We had a fence installed by metro for about $5000. We were happy at the time, and the warranty (I believe 24 years) was one of the big deciding factors in using them. The owner told us if we ever had a problem, they'd come out and repair it, replace any board etc. He also let us know that over time we should expect the gate latch to need adjustment, as gravity and the weight of the fence would cause it to sag. He said to just give a call and they'd come out and fix the gates.
Fast forward 5-6 years, and indeed our gate was not latching well, and our dog went missing to explore the neighborhood a few times. I called Metro and 2 guys came out to look at it, and bluntly told me that it really wasn't their problem, as the company is under new management and/or ownership. As far as I'm concerned, when you buy a company, you buy their warranties and should honor them. Apparently not with Metro. It would have been a 10-15 minute repair for them, but they told me how easily I could do it myself, and went on their way.
I did finally repair both gates myself, probably not as well as they would have, but I'm left with a terrible opinion of the company. The original owner was quite professional and customer service oriented, but unfortunately the company has been sold and the 'good will' came with the name Metro is no longer there.
