This has always been my go to place for diamond appraisals…read more LOCATION - still close to the diamond district in a new location for me. Albeit they have been there for 8 years. Up the block more on 47th in a nicer building ENTRANCE - tight security so make sure you have ID and a smile when they photo you. LOL FLOOR LOCATION - when out of the elevator turn left and just go all the way until you can't go anymore and 2906 is on the right RECEPTION - Pretty stoic and direct. Checking your reservation and there are like 4 seats in the small waiting area until they greet you for an appraisal TECHNICIAN - the is rated EXCEPTIONAL from my vantage point. We were surprised to have the owner evaluate our gem with the latest equipment. PROCESS - for those on the clock the duration for evaluation is within 40 minutes. In addition, they do a thorough cleaning of a ring for optimal evaluation. Then if you have an old report they closely compare to make sure the diamond is the same. The repeat measurements and use newer technology to get better descriptions etc. VALUATIONS - in our case the value from 2006 was the same but the advent of man made diamonds has impacted market prices significantly. Just letting those interested know. Travis couldn't be more friendly, personable, knowledgeable and congenial. EDUCATION - through the process Travis provided insights into the state of the market including scams to be aware of like forged appraisals to get you to pay more in a third party sale. INSURANCE HELP - as a service we were given a list of questions to ask insurers as there are little known nuance's as to what is covered under different circumstances. EXTREMELY helpful PRICE - I must say that prices have come down significantly since 2006. I only paid $75 for this appraisal which is super reasonable even by New York City standards RECOMMENDATION - I highly recommend this GIA licensed establishment as providing HONEST , FAIR, and HIGH QUALITY assessments for a super reasonable cost.

When I first reached out to Oshri, he was very accommodating in finding a time that works for the both of us to meet in person at his office, I appreciate the hospitality and wanting to meet in person. He was very prepared for our appointment as he had tons of questions to ask me about the ring and diamond that I wanted so he could come with only the best diamonds. When I did arrive at his office, his admin staff was very kind and welcoming! Oshri sat down with me and didn't go into anything yet, without fully educating me on everything that goes into a diamond purchase. He took his valuable time to walk me through GIA certifications, diamond cuts, clarity, color and carat weight, along with other points of knowledge. He presented three fantastic options and even better value/price point and we ultimately landed on something that I knew in my gut, I just couldn't beat. I fell in love with the option! He was also patient with me and answered all of my questions for me. I'll be proposing to my girlfriend soon and I look forward to following up on this post with the results! With I could give them 10 stars!!!…read more I had an emergency situation where I needed diamonds set into a new setting plus needed it the same day! Asked around to all my contacts and did my Google and Yelp due diligence and I was referred to I. D. Jewelery without hesitation, even Google AI said go to them! First off it's a true family owned and operated business. And they treat you like family too (minus the drama) everyone was so warm and friendly. I first called and spoke to lovely Anna and she told me it was possible but to come in so their jeweler can take a look at it first. I got there around 11am and I told them my dilemma, Tammy and her team made me feel reassured all would work out and Yekutiel did not hesitate and got on the phone with his setter and told me to come back by 4:30. Mind. Freaking. Blown. They did a magnificent job of setting my diamonds into my new setting but they were also very impressed by the craftsmanship of my custom ring setting. Because it was an emergency situation, I was ready to pay over $1K for this service but the bill was not even close to that number. As the owner said, he is in the business of making people happy not price gauging his customers. The BEST in the jewelry business and I'm so looking forward to going back to get an actual custom piece made there very soon too!

I had some old 14k gold jewelry to sell (broken name chain from when I was a kid and a name plate…read morebracelet that I never wear) and didn't know where to start. TBH I've never sold jewelry before and pawn shops/ "we buy gold" establishments always give off a weird vibe so I avoid them. But I'm moving pretty far away and holding on to broken jewelry that I haven't worn in 20 years simply doesn't make sense so I decided I would sell it rather than risking it getting lost in the move. I've seen this place many times in passing so after seeing positive reviews (albeit from many Yelp newbies) I decided to stop by. Mike was personable and helpful. I did end up selling my pieces, he briefly explained the gold market and we chatted a bit about the jewelry and how he does business. He clearly cares about he does. Overall it was an easy, chill transaction. He shared he was offering $70/g but as it was explained to me: that can change and also depends on how much you're selling. I'm no expert. Did I do a lot of research? Not really. But Mike seemed genuine, wasn't pushy and didn't give off a "tryna get you" vibe. If you're looking to sell or even buy secondhand jewelry, I definitely recommend swinging by and chatting with Mike. Store wasn't busy on a Thursday, early afternoon.
