Those who know Istanbul and its fame for its 'Balikcis' or also known as fish restaurants, know…read morethat they ALL serve the same food. Don't get me wrong - I love a good Balikci with their Mezes - but sometimes it's hard to tell the difference if all of them taste exactly the same. And here comes Azur. A group that has taken the term of fish restaurant, but upgraded it so much, it just has a WOW factor. You enter the beautiful teal building in Yeniköy and immediately walk past the counter with the cold starters, but again, not anything like the classic fish restaurant. Artichokes in different sauces, instead of the classic "Lakerda" an array of different smoked and cured fish, avocado and shrimp, all the shellfish you can wish for from shrimp, to langoustines, to of course Lobster and Oysters. The decoration is seriously amazing. Like a beautiful Yali that has been tastefully decorated by an experienced interior designer. Nothing over the top, but very classy and super chic. So, overall it is a great experience really. Good for date nights (my husband and I love going here), but also for groups and especially if you have foreign guests. Take them here!! The prices are a little steep, of course, but I suppose thats normal. The good thing is - and this is the tip - there are two menus. The menu that the ladies get don't show prices (unless you're on a Girls Night Out I guess) and the gents get the menu with the prices. A nice touch!

I'd like to thank this restaurant for turning down our request for a couple of beers and calamari,…read morewhich led to a much better experience. We ended up buying beers from a nearby shop and enjoyed them on benches by the sea, right next to the restaurant. When we asked what the minimum order requirement was, they vaguely replied with "full service," whatever that means. While they may have good reviews, policies like this are bound to drive away many potential customers.

It is literally placed on the sea and thus it has the perfect view of the Bosphorus and both of the bridges. If you are looking for a restaurant to go on a date, you should go here and get a table right next to the sea! Besides the perfect view and atmosphere, they also have great food. I have tried their marinated sea bass, butter shrimp, fried calamari and roasted pepper as mezes. The sea bass was delicious but the butter shrimp was so for the best! It was AMAZING! Huge tip: Dip your bread into the sauce of the shrimp! The taste will take you to heaven! As a main course, I had the grilled flounder fish. It was cooked perfectly, the meat was soft and juicy. I loved it! Even though it is slightly expensive, Rumelihisari Iskele is one of the best sea food restaurants. Try it and you won't regret!

Super far from our hotel since it was on the Asia side of Istanbul. Took a 25 min cab ride during…read morethe daytime to get here and it was totally worth it!! It opened at 12pm and we got there at 1030am oops so we walked around and came back at 12. We came mostly due to mark weins recommendation on his YouTube channel. Service: super friendly and attentive! There was definitely a language barrier but it was still super nice and could tell by there body language that they mean well Food: -Black salmon in olive oil, butter, Herbs & spices -10/10!! This was what mark weins got and it was so good! Came out on a sizzling hot plate and it was full of flavor. Sooo delicious. This is what made the whole trip to the Asia side worth it -random selection of fish- was pretty good but we didn't know what we were choosing! Was a little fishy for me but hubby liked it ! -salad-mostly because we needed some veggies! Was simple and complimented the salmon well! The whole meal costed us $26! Comes with a cute little desert and Turkish tea at the end Highly recommend !

I was watching some of Mark Wien's vlogs in preparation for a family vacation to Istanbul and knew…read morebased on his reactions at the food here that I had to give it a try. My family is a bunch of seafood fanatics so I was really hoping it would live up to expectations, and it absolutely did. We loved it so much that we came straight back again the next day, even though it was quite far from where we were staying and a ferry ride was involved to get there! This is a small restaurant off a little side street in Kadikoy, quite serene and away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. The service was lovely, there's definitely a language barrier if you only speak English but nothing too bad. They'll take you inside to their refrigerated case of fresh fish and point out what's what, and how it can be prepared. Different types of fish can be braised, grilled, or fried. We tried a few different things: Fish Soup: nice and light with a predominant flavor of dill. goes great with some crusty bread. Fried mackerel: a little too fishy for me, but my parents were fans of this. Fried sardine: really yummy, a bit milder than the mackerel and really soft. With a squeeze of lemon and a shake of salt, it was delicious. Grilled fish - this was a whole fish, grilled to perfection (can't remember what kind it was exactly but it was nice and flaky) Braised black salmon with peppers and onions: so good, this is what I'd seen on Mark Wiens's blog and I was not disappointed, it comes out sizzling and the fish is incredibly soft and flavorful. Make sure to sop up all the butter with the bread! Fish Kofte, grilled: My personal FAVORITE - you must get this. Perfectly seasoned fish cakes that take on a beautiful char on the grill. Best bite of both nights for sure, we ordered it both days we were there! They bring out some bread and two dips (red pepper and eggplant) that go well with everything, along with a large simply dressed salad to add some veggies to the meal. They'll also bring out dessert and tea on the house at the end of the meal, very nice touch! It's incredibly affordable (about $7-$9 per dish) and incredibly delicious. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good seafood in Istanbul/Kadikoy.

The fried mussels tasted more like fried than mussels, but the tomato-cucumber salad was fresh and good. We had the bonito and fluke-kebabs, which were both decent, especially with some lemon juice on them, but it would have been nice to have some sauce or yogurt to go with them. Service was quick and professional.

Unfortunately several of the items we wanted were not available, but we selected several dishes and they were all excellent. Definitely order the "midye tava," which are deep fried mussels. I'm not usually a fan of mussels, but these were perfect--tender, with a light and flaky batter. We also got a kebab of fluke and peppers. The fluke was moist and tender--and the nice thing is that it was a fillet--no picking bones out of the fish. We also tried the pickled tuna (delicious) and their eggplant salad--which was not our favorite (it could have used a bit more seasoning or more of a roasted flavor), but it was fresh and delicious. Other patrons got enormous platters of fried fish which also looked good. I think it's hard to go wrong here.
