I read about this site a few weeks ago and decided it was one of the roadside attractions I had to…read moresee. I drove to Mesquite this morning with my GPS unit following the directions from the Yelp entry. This DOES NOT take you to the carvings. Instead, it leads you into the parking lot of a Flying J truck stop. The Rushmore art is 1.3 miles farther along the road. Check Google maps before you go if you want to be certain. Complete serendipity, after breakfast nearby, I saw a man working on on the Rushmore art.. It turned out it was Mr. Karns, the creator of this art work. I had a chance to chat with him . He was a very genial man explaining that it was not sandstone but hard compacted sand. There art art pieces stretch for about 3/4 mile from the Rushmore site. The road is wide and there is a wide blacktop shoulder on which you can drive or park to get photos and enjoy the work the man didl. There is an area with a couple of cannons and flags for each branch of the military honoring Veterans of Mesquite and the Virgin Valley who served their country. The park also offers a covered pavilion, BBQ grills, bathrooms and a decent sized playground with a shade structure over it. They have dog trash bag/can stations, so remember to clean up after your pet. I loved the big beautiful trees that provided excellent shade over the green grass throughout the park. The park isn't huge yet doesn't feel cramped and is instead fun and relaxing with a fair amount of park amenities.

You will also want to be a bit selfish and not be the driver so you can completely enjoy the oohs and ahhs views. It is so strikingly beautiful that I -- the passenger through the pass -- wanted to turn around for a do-over. The Virgin River Gorge, located between St. George in Utah and the tiny town of Beaver Dam, Arizona. If you are heading in the direction of Utah, you are in luck, as there is a beautiful river that runs along Interstate 15. The canyon itself was carved out by the Virgin River. Moving through the canyon is a bit of a winding drive, and the rocks jet up, revealing steep, orange and burnt orange cliffs. Unfortunately, there is not a pullout as you are moving through the gorge -- and it is very enticing to want to stop. Given the speed with which people are driving and the winding road, it would not be safe to pull over for a look. Immediately after leaving the gorge, you can stop by the Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area. It is a camping and hiking area, with day-use ($2 per vehicle). The views looking back toward the gorge, though not as impressive, are gorgeous. And there is ample space to walk around, take a lunch and use the restrooms (which are flush toilets and kept clean). There is not easy access to the river from here, however if you have a short stop.

Many bring there RV and spend the weekend. The sand dunes out here are incredibly fun to ride in and the beauty of this remarkable place can't be captured in pictures. There are bathrooms but they are closed due to the covid pandemic. There are tables with overhangs for shade for a great outdoor picnic. There are so many trails to enjoy it's simply impossible not to just keep going back to go on another.

Tomarrow I have to go and cancel all my cards and get new ones. Both banks have been informed of this total FU. I have never been through anything like this in my entire life!!! You asked us multiple times what we wante you to do and we kept telling you, "To make a police report so we can take this guy to civil court." And you just stood there looking stupid and acting frustrated. I thought the cops were supposed to help people, by the way. Also, isn't it law that all Nevada cops have to wear body cams? None of the two police officers that we saw had body cams. What kind of circus are you people running down here? The impression I got is that Nevada police won't do shit for you and Mesquite auto shops will try to scam you out of money.

The only thing that is a disappointment as that their hours are not reflected correctly on their website or on other apps. They are not open on Fridays. So it is a bit of a disappointment when you travel from other cities to turn in construction drawings and they're not open. Other than that, it is a smaller jurisdiction. That is very helpful when it comes to walking you through process put in place.

Went to the location and they were closed because their computers were down. I wish they found a way to better communicate the status of their office on a regular basis, Including letting the main number that you call address their status.
