They are not professional and they just try to charge you for a very low quality service. The crews were literally SLOW and bad. I was asking for move in cleaning service which is "deep clean", however, after 3 hours and 3 people, I walked around and almost all major stuff were still dirty!! TERRIBLE!!! I have had weekly cleanings since May. I would have fired them sooner but am recovering from breast cancer & needed the help. The cleaning team comes at the wrong time, then I am charged for rescheduling. But Merry Maids skips a cleaning because they're short staffed or forget about a holiday, Merry Maids cancels with no recourse. They always miss something (floors, trash, dusting) & then when your contractual obligation is up they increase the price. If you complain about poor service or fail to give the team a tip you be targeted. Absolutely the worst cleaning company I've ever worked with. read more

Only hire this company if you want your house to look worse after they're done! We booked a 4 hour, two person, "move out" clean and prepaid $500. Two young women made a disgusting mess of my hardwood floors. They used a vacuum that might as well have been made by Fisher Price. It picked up nothing. When I had them walk around & showed them all the areas that weren't anywhere close to clean, I picked up candy wrappers, pieces of wood, and a handful of trash. They lied to me and said they had vacuumed the closets, then stared blankly at each other when I showed them closet after closet that hadn't been done. Owner Steve yelled at me "That's a $900 vacuum!!" I told him my $700 Dyson is almost 20 years old and picks up 10x more. Maybe they haven't emptied the canister in 6 months. In my 2600sqft house, they didn't empty it once. They didn't do the cabinet or drawer wipe outs we paid for, and they didn't even clean the master tub or shower! What really infuriated me was when I asked them why they stopped mopping at the front of the toilet, they said their mop didn't fit on the sides or behind the toilet. WHAT???? Are they kidding me? I'm being charged $500 for cleaning that doesn't include the floor all the way around the toilet? The absolute worst part was the hardwood floors and tile. They are in all of my first floor rooms. I couldn't put into words the gross slimy, cloudy streaks they left. The real professional cleaner I hired to redo all of Merry Maids' work the next day said that he had owned a cleaning business for almost 30 years & "couldn't imagine" what kind of cleaner would leave such a mess. He said it looked like they sprayed cans of Barbasol shaving cream into the air, then smeared it around. YES!! That's exactly what it looked like! They also made a smeary mess on my windows, getting progressively worse as they went through the house. Owner Steve said "We don't even DO windows!" I told him "Well they did, and the look HORRIBLE!" He offered to send cleaners back the next day. Like I would EVER let Merry Maids back in my house. I asked my neighbor's teenager to come over & revacuum the whole house. She took one look around & said if she was told to vacuum & mop the floor & they looked like this that she would be grounded. I said "Of course you would honey. ANY 15 year old would be!!" I wish my pictures could do justice to the thick white haze that coated them. I had to stay in KY two additional days, postpone the photographer coming, pay a new cleaning company to redo the work MM was supposed to have done AND clean up all the nasty white stuff on the floors & windows, and worst of all, my house was not able to be put on the market when it was supposed to. I missed Thanksgiving in GA with my family. I was supposed to meet the semi of my belongings the morning after this cleaning, but had to have someone else drive from out of state. They didn't know where anything went, so we have been moving things put into the wrong rooms around for a week. Steve credited me $250 after I emailed him over 60 pictures of how nasty my house was after they were "done". How stupid can one person be???? I am out THOUSANDS of dollars in damages due to his fraudulent business practices. I have already reported this to corporate. Next is the DA and BBB. Bait & switch, false advertising, fraudulent business practices, & deception are all ILLEGAL. I hope Steve spends Christmas in jail away from his family just like how his company made me miss Thanksgiving with mine. read more

My daughter had renters that moved and she needed help getting the rental house cleaned, that's where Merry Maids comes in. She has already written a review but I wanted to expand on it. If you truly need cleaning help, don't use this location! This is not a case of "sour grapes". Please read on and I will let you know what happened. 2 "very nice" ladies came to clean (2 small bathrooms and a kitchen). They spent 2 hours doing this, in a empty house. Nothing in the way, nothing in the cabinets or on the counters. 2-hours folks and there was 2 of them! They were not asked to sweep or vacuum and there was no furniture to dust. Just clean the 3 areas. My daughter was busy and didn't really look at what was done (or rather, not done). She paid $200 for the cleaning service. In 2 hours - they did not touch the inside of the empty refrigerator or wipe off a light fixture. Painting, carpet and land scraping was the priority, so my daughter did not hold their hand and walk the service through what they should do. I could have done no more than they did in 45 mins easy. I saw what they did (or rather did not do) after they had gone. If you complain, you will be offered "nothing"! Why didn't someone come by and inspect the cleaning job, when my daughter called to say it was not what it should have been? They got her money and we're not interested in anything else. The lesson here is; if all you want is dust wiped up and garbage emptied, these are the ones to call. If you want your home "cleaned", call another location. Good luck. read more

First, let me tell you that I was forewarned by several people. I really should have listened. They all told me that the price was way too high and I would be a fool to pay that kind of money to have my house cleaned. I told them what Merry Maids said to me, " you will get a DEEP clean." I felt like a deep clean was worth the money. I called and set up an appointment. I had misgivings after I hung up the phone because one of the selling points by the phone contact was that all of their employees "speak English".. I gave them my information and explained that I just needed two bathrooms, one bedroom and my kitchen and great room cleaned.My house is fairly new and one person can clean aforementioned rooms in one hour. I was informed that they have a two hour minimum and it is $52.00 per hour hour. Two people came so they told me that it would be $104.00 per hour. Again, because I needed the "deep clean" I went ahead and allowed them to clean for me. After two hours I receive a phone call from the maid saying that they needed another hour in order to complete the job. I told them no because$312.00 was way too much money to clean such a small area. I gave them an extra half hour for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Imagine my devastation to come home to a house that seemed like it they spent the 2 1/2 hours vacuuming! The light fixtures they said would be cleaned was still full of dust. The baseboards they said would be cleaned was still full of dust. The refrigerator drawers had not been pulled out to wipe beneath. The most upsetting insult was the front bathroom had not been cleaned or even touched. The oven drawer still had food and debris in it. The counter tops still had dust on it. I took pictures, called Merry Maids and they said, "Well you gave us a 2 1/2 cap to clean. I replied, Yes, Because if we are honest, It should have take only one hour for two people to clean such a small area. After emailing them pictures of the dusty light fixtures, dusty floor boards, I received the following email: I am sorry that you were not satisfied with the cleaning job that the ladies did at your home today and I apologize that you misunderstood that the fee was $52.00 an hour per person. After reviewing the photo's that you sent, some of which did not really show much that we could see, the owners have only charged you for the 2 hour minimum of $208.oo instead of $260.00. This is so unreal. The cleaning job was so poor that I thought about disputing the bank charges. Instead, I will just warn others about this company and NEVER EVER use them again. read more

Having rental property can be a challenge.finding a local cleaning company that is bonded and insured has been a blessing! I called short notice for a move out clean not only did they work me in but they did it on a Saturday! unheard of! The new tenants moved in Sunday. The Hamburg Pike location was hired in September to clean a rental property in Jeffersonville after the tenants left. I would normally clean it myself but there were other repair projects that needed my attention, so I hired cleaning help. I spoke with a very nice lady on the phone about what I wanted done. Perhaps this is where the he said/she said comes in. Warning: if you don't tell them every little thing you want, it won't get done. Maybe I'm stupid to think that requesting a "move-out" cleaning includes wiping out the oven and fridge. Silly me. The toilet lids weren't cleaned off either. I thought that people in that profession should know what a "move-out" cleaning requires. The two ladies who showed up were very nice but seemed to lack any sense of urgency or thoroughness. I was busy the whole time they were there and didn't closely look at everything until later that day. So disappointed. I had called back to say that I was very dissatisfied and requested a partial refund, since my timeline did not allow for a re-clean. I had to show the house to prospective tenants and just cleaned it myself after all. So after some phone tag because the owner was out of the office, I'm finally told there would be no refund considered. AND the owner never called me, it was the office staff.
