This is a nice park. The playground is big, and there are a number of fun things to play on/with,…read moreincluding slides (multiple), bridges, a rock wall, tunnels and more. It's all very colorful and fun. There's also a splash pad with multiple water features, and it's located in a nice shady spot with benches all around. Shade! Around a splash pad! This seems to be a rare thing nowadays, but yes, there is shade here. As a parent, that's probably what I like this park: There is always somewhere shady to sit or stand. This park also had a gigantic roofed overhand area with benches for big parties. When we visited, there was a church party going on. There is also a little rain garden on the outer edge of the park, which was a welcome sight. I love when parks make the effort to incorporate native plants into their park spaces. It doesn't go unnoticed, and it's greatly appreciated! Potawatomi Park is directly outside of Potawatomi Zoo. The two share a parking lot, so it might be a drag to find parking on busy days.

During Steelhead season it is often super crowded, (combat fishing) but the fishing can be amazing. It's not especially scenic as other reviewers have noted, but for Steelhead guys, it's a paved lot, lots of wadeable water, and lots of fish. Unfortunately, it isn't handicap accessible, however 1/2 mile East at Twin Branch Dam, there is adequate handicap accessible water. If you come to fish, which is why it was developed 5 stars all the way, (did I mention it's a paved lot with a port-o-john)? If your looking for a park to take the kids to blow off steam, consider Central Park, or Beutter Park.

The south end is mostly open space but does have a playground, a shelter, basketball and volleyball courts. But it doesn't look like it has been maintained with the same care as the north end. The best I can say is that it is more rustic. It isn't in bad repair, but it just doesn't have anything appealing to draw visitors to come here. If there is something specific that you need, maybe the park will fit your needs. But otherwise, it is mainly a green space that is a buffer for when the river gets high. Review #3097

There is off the street parking. Around the splash pad are sereal benches, picnic tables, trash cans, bike stands and port a potties. Near the splash pad is a volleyball court, basketball court and swings. A little further down is playground equipment.

Beautiful beach and park!…read more We came for the day to play on the beach and see the sand dunes. You have to pay for the use. There is a large parking area by the beach. As soon as we pulled in we noticed the beach on one side of the parking lot and the sand dunes on the other. We decided to climb the dunes first. There is one big hill that everyone was going up. It is challenging but fun. Great views from the top. And super easy to come down. Then we went to the beach. Sand was really nice and clean. A storm started to roll in so we had to leave the beach a little early. They do a great job of communicating and changing the flags when the beach conditions change. There are bathrooms and some food vendors. Only wish is they had actual showers to clean off all the sand. They have the outside ones but they weren't very efficient.

Ducks rule whats left of the beach sand, just downstream of a very nice public access boat ramp. Across Northshore is the main park itself with bathrooms, pavilions, grills and some playground equipment. Its a short walk from the Farmers Market. We have used the parking at the park..then walked to the market on days when the Farmers Market lot is full or too crazy to bother with.

The lake (Michigan) is so vast like the ocean. It amazes me how it looks like the sea. If you have older persons with wheelchairs and walkers, this is not an easy place to go to, but they could stay near the parking lot and look at the ocean, however. So nice. A lightHouse sits here and it's very romantic esp w the sun going down or up. Lots of places to walk and sit.
