I called asking if they sell melting chocolate that doesn't have to be tempered, but high quality. Unlike wilton melts that are synthetic and terrible. I came in and asked if it was "Gazebo Party and Gift" because it was the same address. The girl told me that they had taken over the shop and changed it to a chocolate shop. They had a ton of different gift baskets perfect for Christmas gifts. They had different kinds of melting chocolate, chocolate bars, treats etc. I'm glad I found this place. It was pretty busy. Yes it is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

When I leave, I have learned something new every time. She offers a range of classes as well. She has kept the shop fully stocked with must-have items for both professional and amateur bakers and treat-makers. You can find things here that you just can't find anywhere else.{+ TONS of disco dusts, pearls dusts, Americolor food colorings, hard-to-find ingredients, and MUCH, much more} And if you can't find it, she will surely order it for you! If you go to Plato's expect them not to abide by their own policy of purchase. I came in here with…read morelisted brands, "in season and trendy", which they turned down. I also tried to sell back some items i had purchased there, had never worn, in great shape, and they would not buy them back. When confronting the staff, nobody would own up to who went through my items. I highlighted to them that they rejected things on their own list, girl stated "she was not going to stand here and argue with me on every item". She also agreed with me when i said it is basically up to whoever the clerk's style is that goes through my bag. This pretty much sums up that this location of Plato's is condescending, rude, and discriminatory, even against their own policies. If you go here, do not attempt to sell items because you will have wasted your time by finding out it's not trendy, or they will just not take it because of whatever mood they're in that day, or based on the clerks sense of fashion, or what they think would look good on their shelves. NOTE: i had high end brands such as judy blue, democracy, American eagle, coach, gap, etc. I have even had Tennessee volunteer gear get turned down 3 weeks prior to football season.

This little bookshop is attached to Wolf Hills Coffeeshop and such a great little spot in Abingdon…read more It's a tiny bookstore and there's also a selection of second-hand books as well, I didn't find anything which grabbed my attention when I was there but having a third space such as this bookshop and coffeehouse are important to have even in small towns like Abingdon. From what I remember prices weee very reasonable and there' s even a tiny garden in the back (buy your book and coffee first!). I sure hope this place is still there when and if I return to Abingdon.
