Then the second level features a cafe with seating and views that overlook Avenida Independencia. There is also a hostal here on the third level, but I wasn't sure if the terrace was actually part of the hostel or if it's just for the public. I would have definitely stayed at the hostal had I even known it existed here. I would reccon that this building has probably been here for three hundred years. This building really does give you a sense of the oldest city in the world.

It can also be hot and stuffy in the summer with many different smells intermixing and wafting through the whole space. Personally, I find that a charming and inescapable element of these markets, and IMO, a great way to really witness a slice of life in CDMX.
