I would have loved to find some old relics or really cool vinyl records from the past. I've read reviews about the fact that this little area had all kinds of cool and interesting stuff. To both buy and trade. Instead what I found was an ordinary flea market with just regular junk really. If you are looking for an old pair of used blue jeans, or a beat up used cell phone, then there was a lot of that here today. There was also a lot of places to buy food, as well as, a few small convenience stores. Maybe I came on the wrong day in the middle of the week, and the cool merchandise comes on the weekend or a different special day.

Punk Rock Flea Market! This place rocks- it's legit…read morehardcore punk. This is where punks have been coming for generations to swap dirty looks, hardcore grunts, patches, books, and bootleg tapes of kickass grindcore, metal, punk, ska, thrash, surf country, death polka, accordion goth, and metalachi music there is. Although finding a cassette tape might be rare, they sell some music, and a lot of punk clothes on the cheap. Want some KISS Army handmade punk denim jackets? They got em in spades. They know their music- ask for some Brujeria stuff while you're there- dropping the name is instant street cred, so they know you're hardcore metal. I got a bunch of patches and some punk accessories on the super cheap. I asked for a two-pack of socks, and ended up with some Tupac socks. Thug Life!! There's a big sign at the front of the flea market that forbids alcohol or drugs, so you know it's safe, right? I did see a coupla cops slow rolling their cruiser down the narrow passageway, eyeing us punks up to no good. It's right next to the library, which is a bit ironic. Fight the power!

(especially now 6 feet please, don't cough on me) If you don't look Spanish or have lighter skin, I would probably come here with a local. It would be very easy to get targeted in this area, try to not bring expensive cameras or shiny new objects. The people are all very welcoming but it's in a not so good area. I came here (in october 2019) with my GF who is Filipina and she got a lot of looks but people were mostly friendly and left us alone since I could be Mexican and speak fluent Spanish (we're both brown). There are some food stalls right outside the entrance of this market. I wouldn't rely too much on having a full lunch here, just grab some small bites to get you through the market (its very big) and then plan on having a proper meal later. Tip* I would ask prices before ordering, they don't list prices on most of these stalls. The inside market has stalls that not only sell fresh fruits and vegetables but traditional herbs, magical potions, and other indigenous Mexican spiritual objects. You can also find some toys and wrestling masks here, but not many. The Mercado de Sonora is located in the Colonia Merced Balbuena neighborhood of Venustiano Carranza Burrough in Mexico City. The indoor market is one of the many public markets built by the city to regulate retail commerce. The institution was officially opened in 1957.

They've got everything you need for curses, spells, incantations, hexes and blessings. This flea market stretches far and wide, full of everything you'll ever need. One wrong turn, and you're in a separate kind of market. They not only sell religious materials, but also chickens, pigeons, doves, and other sorts of birds. Watch out! There aren't nearly enough restrooms here- and you gotta pay for the few that are in here. This place can be a bit overwhelming, with every possible inch used to sell weird and exotic stuff. The stalls are incredibly packed with goods, and all prices are negotiable. The market gets pretty crowded on Saturdays, which I hear is the best day to go.
