So anyway, I made it my business to buy as much produce as I can use in a week from as many different vendors as I could possibly purchase from. And I even splurged on some excellent looking Bison New York strips and some Mexican style Pork chorizo from a local cattle farmer. Which I quickly took home and threw on the grill with some of the vegetables that I purchased. They made for a wonderful Saturday evening dinner and paired perfectly with a bottle of wine that I had. Yummy! I love food & wine!! As for the overall variety of vendors at the market I only have one little complaint. And that is, I wish the market would have had some local cheese vendors and more baked goods like fresh breads. That would have made it the ideal experience for me. But nevertheless, I found myself having a joyful time being lost in all of the available selections of produce. Anyway, I will definitely be coming back to the Montclair Farmers Market as often as I can and you should too! However the store can be a bit of a drag with nikel and diming customers. A sign was posted that the store will be charging $0.10 for the plastic "produce" bags. Either way, everyone's a winner. The petting zoo is much larger than others in the area, giving the pets and the customers a lot of space to roam around. You can buy your tickets online, or with the QR code on site, or with cash at the booth located at the zoo entrance at the top of the hill past the upper parking lot. The farmers market provides amazingly fresh produce, fruits, veggies, baked goods, and a pre-made food selection. You can order a fresh sandwich, sides and soup. A delicious bonus. Somethings look out for include sparce parking at the top of the hill where the farmers market is, but plenty further down and towards the greenhouse. Also seating to eat is located in the back past checkout in the playground area that is also lacking a number of tables, but make meeting new people an experience when sharing seating. A fun adventure rolled into one location.
