This market is a walk from Porto center and offers a ton of different food options, from bbq, seafood, typical Portuguese food, and many desserts. This is a one stop spot, similar to the Time Out markets. There are definitely many places to sit, but it is all self-serve. So grab a table when you see it! Mercado Bom Sucesso is a hidden gem in Porto! I am glad it was close to our hotel because otherwise I am not sure we would've found it. It is such a fun marketplace with great food options and a grocery store. I tried the pasta station and it was very good! I also got an açaí bowl which I enjoyed as well. I came here twice it was so good! It was fun to try different things from different stations, and I thought it was better than the more popular Mercado do Bolhão. We even got to see a choir perform during our meal! The only complaint I have is on the second visit the açaí bowl place did not open until an hour after they said they would and I had to leave so I wasn't able to get a bowl that day. read more

It is a nice food court for casual eating. The quality is decent but comparable to a food court vs a restaurant. Our favorite station was the pasta one for my kids and the suckling pig for us. The paella and octopus here were just okay. The wine store at the corner had a great selection and offers tasting. Their price point was lower for the exact drink compared to the wine bar in the center. read more

We were showed up at 8pm on a weeknight and the food hall was busy, but there were still plenty of places to sit. (Unlike the crazy busy Lisbon Time Out market). I opted for the leitao, which was the roasted suckling pig. I ordered the plate over the sandwich because the plate had full large pieces of suckling pig rather than the sandwich which only had chopped up pieces. The suckling pig was super tender and delicious, and the skin was nice and crisp. The portion was very generous and was only 9 euros with a drink. Delicious! read more

Great market - in many ways better than the famous Time Out market in Lisbon! Although this was smaller, we found some delicious eats here. Plus it seemed like off the beaten path, and we could dine in peace without queuing for everything. I recommend: - Leito / suckling pig. Amazing here. Not the best we've had, but pretty good. Go for the plate instead of the sandwich, to get the big slabs of pig instead of it all shredded up. - Roasted big portobello mushrooms, from the stall in the middle that does lots of pincho style dishes. Amazing! Topped with lots of cheese, ham, and other goodies. - Poke stall (next to the seafood stall). Not the best poke I've ever had, but try octopus and prawn poke, which is quite unique. Don't go for couscous base though, it was very dry. Things that were meh: - Seafood stall. We had clams from here. Not impressed. read more

Great place to check out when in Porto. The mercado is full of different restaurants with a variety of cuisines to try. I opted for the tapas, tried a few pinchos paired with prosecco . The atmosphere is very laid back and I saw they offer live performances on different days of the week. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. read more
