Ask your questions here because it seems that the visitor center near T Central is no longer open. And if this center has subway and bus maps, grab them. I guess with so many using their phone, people aren't using the visitor center so much. But I still need a visitor center. My phone is on airplane mode to avoid roaming fees, so I need a good old-fashioned map when I am out and about. The subway, even T Central, hasn't had maps for a couple of years. My flight got switched and I stayed here because I was early for the next one out. Was greeted by someone who looked at my pass and gave me the third degree about being here too early. Trust me, honey: being stuck at Arlanda airport at the crack of dawn, lugging my oversized bags on two hours' sleep after a late taxi and a midwinter snowstorm, was not in today's master plan. Lucky for this reviewer, reception was accommodating, so long as I didn't stay longer than 3 hours. She promised to let me know when it was time to gtfo. Overall impression: dingy, dirty, dorm room decor that looks cute from about a mile away, but is shabby and uncomfortable. Upon entry, it feels like a scam: like Donald Trump evicted some cute, little old lady from her home, demolished it, then put up a sleazy casino overnight using cheap labor and bad contracting. Nobody got paid. At the table adjacent to me, men descended from Vikings try to sit comfortably in furniture made for dolls. Their knees bump the table while they attempt to conduct business in a dignified manor. Their burly fingers get stuck in the handle of cheap IKEA coffee cups. A shitty plywood table becomes the thin veneer between chaos and civilization. They're just one indignity away from burning and pillaging this place to the ground. A part of me wishes they would. Food was downright terrible, with a breakfast consisting of processed cheese and school lunch meat. Worn carpet and crumbs everywhere create for an unappetizing environment. Sorta-clean utensils and plates and cups make you want to close your eyes, look the other way, and hope your travel vaccinations are still good. The biggest mystery of my visit was the orange juice -- possibly the worst I've ever tasted. It looks like OJ, but it's so completely watered down that it tastes almost entirely like water. Barely even a hint of acidity. It's possible they added coloring because I have no idea how something can look that orange, yet taste like just like water. Used the espresso machine and as the shot was poured, swore I saw something dirty and questionable. I decided to believe it was my imagination, or fool myself into thinking that the steam would magically kill off whatever germs were still in the cup. It wasn't fantastic coffee, but not undrinkable. The only pleasant surprise of this stay. Too bad the machine was coated in sticky milk and hadn't been cleaned since the Middle Ages. Odd chirping and cicada-like sounds coming through the sound system. I think they're intentionally piped in to add some special "nature" effects to the living wall. They might have contributed to the atmosphere in a comfy setting. However, since I'm currently seated in furniture designed for a minimum security prison, starting to feel a little paranoid. This might be an experiment in insanity. I'm afraid to go into the bathrooms. Sam and Frodo came back from Mordor once, and I'm not confident anyone can twice cheat the odds. There are also newspapers available as well as free wifi. The food offerings are a joke, for breakfast there's porridge that has more in common with glue than food as well as apples and some sort of dry cookies. No other food but there's of course tea, coffee and beer for those who think that fits breakfast. The system to enter the lounge is with automated gates which is fine when it works but every time I am there at least one person struggle to enter and there's no staff readily available so one has to ring a bell and then wait (usually a long time) for someone to come and let you in. This more seems like a lounge set up to be able to market that they have a lounge. It is closer to deserve one star than three.

At this time, Delta still serves ARN (Stockholm-Arlanda) from New York/JFK. It is their only…read moreservice, a single daily. Delta does not have flights between ARN and Atlanta or Minneapolis or even Detroit. Just New York. Arrival was easy and baggage claim was quick with the suitcases and other luggage appearing on the carousel swiftly. Returning to the airport was also good and we were able to find the check-in counter after only a brief search. There are separate queues for economy and elite passengers. It appears that all of the ground staff here are outsourced except for a station manager, which is normal for Delta's remote stations. I was asked the usual questions about my luggage and where it had been but then I was asked more interactive questions about why I visited, where I had been in Sweden and where else I have traveled recently. Odd. I was handed a "fast pass" and provided directions to the lounge and then I was on my way. Boarding was the usual mess but they honored first class and Diamond medallion passengers to board first. Beyond that, it looked like a crush. Not the way it should be. I'd say the station was much easier signposted around the Airport Terminal building and it did have a large ticket area - the staff seemed nice enough although the support on the platform could be better. A pretty clean station, providing T5's vital link onto the Arlanda Express network - it obviously isn't as big as any other station in the city mainly down to its' purpose and is even smaller than other Airport railway stations but still, it's clean and does the job even though I would say the platform area could be a little more bold, modern and welcoming. 3*
