What a great place! There are other nice antique stores on Tinakori Road in Thorndon, but most are a little on the pricey side -- either a small amount of expensive stock, or tons of ceramics and bric-a-brac. They're all worth a visit, but Memory Lane strikes the right balance, and is the best of the bunch! Lots of antiques and vintage, nicely displayed and easy to see and touch. Very reasonable prices on everything, and the owner and staff are super friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Got some cool ephemera, a fantastic book, and a beautiful old box. Lots of classic Kiwiana here. The store is tiny, but look carefully, there's something for everyone. Came away with a 1950s scrapbook of the Royal visit and a jewellery box made of native woods. The store assistant was real helpful. You want to come to a place like this instead of the nonsense souvenirs you'll find in the airport or at Te Papa read more
