The jacket was huge and full of imperfections. I did not enjoy shopping in turkey anywhere. At one point I became separated from my friends and a shop keeper tried to lure me into his store by promising me that my friends were just inside. I could see plainly that they were not. I will not go back to Turkey.

This is a warning about the leather company Emelda!!…read more I just went for a holiday to Antalya, Turkey. We went with a group, which made some shopping stops including turkish carpets, jewellery and leather stores. The last stop was the Leather factory Emelda. The guide has on the way filled us with positive things about the company saying they were producers of the biggest names including gucci, burberry, luis vuitton etc. At first sight Emelda seems like exclusive shop, a huge shop with shop assistents in suits, welcome you with drinks and presenting their collection with a fashion show. Afterwards the sales assistents started surrounding us. I went on buying two leather jackets for 670 euros bargained the price with 80% off the first price, which at the time seemed like a good price. One of the jackets was a M, which was too big and they promised to change it to a XS from their other department and redo the sleeves and have it delievered to the hotel. Coming home reexamine the other jacket. The quality of the leather and stitching was terriable. I called them right away to cancel the other jacket, but they said it was impossible as they claimed the jacket was especially made for me. I demanded a refund of the other jacket, which was not changed or used... not surprising this was impossible too. I got my other jacket the next day, which was claimed to be specially made for me, but did not fit me at all when I got it delivered. It was obvious they had taken the size M and done a terriable job resizing it to a XS. The delivery man would not take it back even though the promised me if it didn't fitted me they would. The next day I saw the exact same jackets sold in the city for less than 100 euros each. I contacted them but of course they ignored me. I realized that the cheap crap jackets bought in the markets are the same as the expensive ones in Emelda. They just know how to sell it better. Everything the guide has told me has been a lie. He is a part of the whole selling scheme getting a piece of the cake for every item they sell. Don't believe me? 1. Check the stitches it reveals the quality of the product. 2. Check the stores in the city they will sell exactly the same jackets. 3. Ask the guide if 500 euros is a reasonable price for a Emelda jacket. He will say yes! Save your money and buy a good quality jacket in a honest store!

The price-tags on the jackets was crazy, from 2-5000 Euro! And claiming this is authentic Bureberry! Anyway I found a jacket that i liked. It was one that was shown at the hotel show the day before. We agreed on 500 Turkish Lira and that I had to check my bankaccount to see if I had enough for this purchase. We agreed that I would give them a call the next day. I checked my account, went to an ATM and withdrew 500 T.L then I called them. Now the price was 700 T.L !! I asked them kindly to hold their deal of the agreement, and I could be found at the hotel the next hour. I also said I would write a review on the net if they did not hold their end of the bargain. An hour went, and my husband and I, wnt to the hotels Hamam. Suddenly the guy from Roma leather comes in shouting and screaming in turkish and english and acting very hostile. Even the hamam woman took a few steps backwards. This was really unpleasant experience. Keep away! (Roma leather is owned by a cople, danish woman named Gitte, and her husband : Özcan Akman, it is this man who came shouting in the hotel hamam)
