When my partner reached him about needing help with a late 1099 filing, he declined to help and invited him to return to our prior accountant. When asked if he could provide explanation as to why, he replied (paraphrasing) "No, I really can't". I was appalled and left 3 voice messaged which were never returned. And had to email 5 different times to get very basic answers so I could transfer my business to another accountant. As I write this, I never did receive an explanation for the way we were suddenly being treated after 20 years. But Dan (who had his insurance with my wife's ins agy) did find time to try to pull his insurance to another agent in the midst of it all, having still never found the time to ever reach out to me directly. TERRIBLE and unprofessional way to end a 20-year relationship.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that they use a secure digital file system so that I could upload files ahead of time. Very helpful! Thankfully her taxes are pretty straightforward, but the federal and state returns were e-filed and everything processed in a couple weeks. That was great! I'm almost considering having Lee Mandel & Associates do my own taxes next year! Money and time well spent here.
