Several years ago, I purchased a set of Christmas stockings from a department store retailing chain (Kohl's); the particular (monogram) style is one that they carry every year. This year, we had an addition to our family and I was disappointed when I learned that the letter that I needed (which was U) was not available... the store does not carry the product for every letter of the alphabet. Fortunately, Kohl's also sells blank stockings in this style so I purchased one and took it to Mellado Designs to have it embroidered. I chose a font Mellado already had that most closely matched the font on the existing stockings and was very pleased with how it turned out! Especially considering if Mellado wasn't able to do this, I would purchase a new set of stockings which would probably cost $100-$200. Excellent quality, fast turn around, and very friendly customer service. Thank you, Mellado! read more

Among a sea of embroidery shops in South San Diego, Mellado Designs stands head and shoulders above the crowd. I was initially referred to them by another professional graphics shop, who outsources their embroidery work to them. Mine was a custom job and I need it done in a matter of days. Unlike the usual "that will be a week before we can get to it...," Mellado Designs answered the phone professionally and didn't even hesitate in stating, "we'll get it done fast for you." Well, two days later it was done. I picked my embroidered shirt up on a lunch break and I'm quite happy with the results. You can't go wrong with Mellado Designs. read more

I was very impressed with Mellado designs after my first order a few weeks ago. They are very professional and very thorough and they treated me with so much respect and professionalism. I recently moved here and I run my own Club and I really was in a rush to find someone to do all of my printing and logos and T-shirts and Hoodies. I have found my place and I recommend this awesome place to everyone. Also their pricing is very reasonable and they do their very best to satisfy you. read more

Worst screen print shop I have ever worked with. I will NEVER work with them again. First of all the customer service is horrible every body down to the manager is disrespectful and the owner is always "out of town". They refused to give me my clothes after I decide to not proceed with any prints due to multiple problems. So they decided to up charge my "screen set ups" and charge over charge me for samples I can't even have. Horrible business, horrible employees, horrible quality prints. read more

They messed up several orders for my order for my team. Had the wrong product (I asked specifically for certain product did not do it) and was missing merchandise from the players orders. Had to go elsewhere and spend my own money to get the order finished. Very unorganized and not a company I will go back to. Don't know why I went away from Prime Sports they always went out of there way to make it right, but not Mellado! read more

Order was supposedly shipped to the wrong address, was ordered on 11/20/17, expedited production was paid for. Was supposed to be ready by 12/1/17. The order was then finally returned or whatever and ready for pickup. The wool hats looked terrible and the stitching was extremely think. The employee told me that is how they come, although they looked nothing like the image (proof) I received. Very low quality work, and their "shipping" story was completely false. read more

I'll never get prints done anywhere else. You'll pay less here and get way better quality prints. I've been printing my soccer team's jerseys here for years and the prints never come off after hundreds of washes. read more

Ray Mellado and "Fat Tony" were amazing. I planned my T-shirt design for the Susan G. Komen 3-day with a competitor months in advance. Once it was 2 weeks before the event and the competitor thought it was too late for me to order somewhere else, they doubled the price on me. ON EVERYTHING!! I frantically called around to several places who could not help me out "last minute". I called after hours expecting to reach a recording and reached Ray Mellado. He was so helpful. He even calmed me down after venting about the other company who totally screwed me. He agreed to help me on short notice. He was flexible with his time and met with me after hours so we could place the order in time. He is a great guy very compassionate! He referred me to Tony for some of the graphic design work. Tony was also very nice and compassionate. They were able to give me excellent prices and did not take advantage of me when that could have easily been done by any other company while I was so desperate. Especially since I was leaving town in just a few weeks to walk in the 3-day. I will never forget my Hero's who came to my rescue and did an excellent job on my shirts and hoodies for the 3-day event!! Everyone was so impressed with their work. I still get compliments on my shirts and they have been washed over and over in the last year. Quality work and excellent customer service! You guys are AWESOME!!! read more

As a customer who has spent thousands of dollars at this establishment I was a bit surprised by the latest transaction. My husband placed an order per usual and had emails back and forth about the time frame, cost etc. At 1pm on the day that the shirts were suppose to be done he called to confirm they would be done by 2pm. The lady on the phone had zero knowledge of it and said that there was no way they could be done by then. Okay things happen I went and picked up the shirts around 430. I took the shirts home and my husband took in the shirts for his function the next morning. They messed up the order gave zero XLs and instead gave all larges. So my husband had to drive back before the ceremony they were having to straighten it all out. I understand mistakes happen, what I dont understand is there was zero accountability and barely an apology if you cant do something on time just say so and maybe there needs to be better communication between employees. read more

I have used Mellado Design for some school tshirts for the past 5 years and I loved working with Ray. However it seems like the last two years (especially this year) have gone down hill. Last year we had a shirt that had paint on the back and although they took care of removing it. The hassle of coming back to get it fix isn't what I was hoping for. This year one of the shirts had a small whole in it. They offered to sew it. Really, than charging me a set up fee to do a couple extra when they already had to redo the one. We only offered to buy more to make sure they would reprint the one with a whole. read more

WOW! Beautiful work, efficient and a great price!! We look forward to more business with these folks! Love, love love....

Where can you fast efficient service with awesome customer service, definitely at Mellado Designs. I have been a customer since 2009 for personal and business embroidery. "Fat Tony" is absolutely the best. He is definitely detail oriented, quality threading and the most value for your money. I have noticed they service many other schools and business', but they will definitely not turn down any job. Thank you Fat Tony and Mellado Designs. read more

I was in a bind, needing an embroidery job done in 1 day. The staff were compliant with returning my call promptly and courteously. They agreed to completing the job within the short timeline that I needed. When I arrived to their establishment, I was pleasantly surprised to have the job completed by the owner. What's more, he offered to complete the job same-day. Mellado not only met, but exceeded my expectations with quality, great customer service and speed. read more

Mellado was recommended by some friends. I must say I am very disappointed. Communication lacks and Jose lied about contacting me. I would rather hear they are busy instead of trying to blame me. We are in a world of technology where it is easy to know if you really sent an email or not. I was promised shirts on the 17th and I have yet to hear if they are ready although I've already contacted twice. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. I just hope the quality is as good as everyone posted here. read more

I needed to find a local company that could silkscreen a custom design on our t-shirts and sweatshirts, for my son's little league team, and I found this place...it was perfect! The staff is very courteous and professional, they provide great customer service. With this being the first time that I took on such a huge task of ordering shirts/hoodies for a big group of people, plus I had to come up with the design for the shirts myself, the staff at Mellado Designs went above & beyond to help make this a successful experience for me. Very nice! They took the time to show me some improvements/modifications to the design that I originally took in. I really appreciated their feedback. They are very creative and talented. The turnaround time in receiving the products, after I placed the order, was very quick! In addition, with this company being located here in San Diego, I avoided the shipping costs & long delivery delays that are associated with ordering custom printed shirts online. This local company is great and I will be returning here for future orders! I am a very satisfied customer! read more

I took 3 polo shirts and 2 baseball caps in on Monday, 1/30/17, to have my radio call sign (6 letters) and name (3 letters) embroidered on them. More accurately, one of the polo shirts already had my name and needed only my radio call. When I dropped them off on 1/30/17, I was told they would be ready by Friday, 2/3/17. I said I would stop by the following Monday, 2/6/17, for pickup so they had a couple extra days for the work. When I went in today, 2/3, not only were the items not ready, they had not even begun working on them yet. While the price for the work was certainly reasonable ($42), the delay was not. Given the relatively small nature of the job, a week should have been more than sufficient, especially since the company gave me the date when I asked when I could pick them up. So, unlike the experiences of the others noted here, mine was quite different, especially since it was not a "custom" or unusual project. read more
