The Melia was such a warm welcome to Capri. We were greeted with a welcome drink of delightful, super chilled Champagne as we checked in. When it's hot and humid this gesture goes even further. Mmmmhmm. Laura and the staff were so very kind and helpful with booking us a private boat to tour the island. The price they secured was very reasonable and made for the best time cruising all the beautiful gems the waters around Capri reveal. There are only 19 rooms currently so it had this combo feel of a boutique/resort hotel. The rooms were very chic and modern. The hotel is bright. The pool area is quaint and nicely done with the perfect music gently playing in the back ground- so relaxing. The spa is inviting and was a bonus for our tired bodies. The massage was not deep but so relaxing I passed out and felt refreshed. The breakfast area and the morning cuisine offered so many delish options: pastries, fruits, cereal, eggs, meats. The croissants here were the best in all the parts of Italy I visited- Flakey, light, and melted in my mouth. The shopping and restaurants nearby the hotel were a nice break from downtown Capri. The staff was all first class, helpful, and knowledgeable. Worth every penny! read more
