A great offering of Mexican Street Food served up here at Méjico Miranda. With its urban, edgy décor, to it's market-to-table menu, I found it difficult to fault. The food here is clean & surprisingly vibrant. I found the menu to possess a unique imaginative flare; a welcome salute to modern Mexican cuisine. My friend & I dined here for lunch, both ordering the Chef prepared Lunch Board for a cool $16. We also ordered a starter of Salmon Ceviche to share. The Lunch Board included 2 tacos of our choice (we both opted for the slow braised pork), one of their famous corn lollipops, guacamole, salsa, sour cream & serving of their three bean dip, finished with a serve of corn chips. A pretty epic deal really. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, rolling out the door full & satisfied. What else can you ask for? A great, new addition to Westfield Miranda. Bravo! read more

I was skeptical about this place look from the second floor on food precinct roof top area. This place doesn't resemble any Mexican to me. Anyway I came and check it out, a bit feel to nibbles Something light. The lady host was super friendly and greet me at the door asking if I wanted to seat al fresco or dining inside, asked if I have allergic and gave window period for me to read and choose from the menu and approached me for order. Well, I did ordered as following: 1. slow roasted pork taco with chilli caramel salsa 2. Achiote chicken with salsa macha, 3. Corn lollipops with chipotle mayo, queso fresco, coconut and popcorn 4 Margarita Cheesecake Tostadas Ok, corn lollipop is fun to eat, but my opinion chipotle mayo overpowering queso fresco ( Mexican fresh cow milk cheese ) and I barely taste the coconut. Can't default the slow roster pork, chilli caramel salsa was great accompaniment, (sweet and spicy at the same time), for this dish, and bit of scratching was good crunchy note . Chicken taco, those salsa macha was chilli hot, peanuty and sweet honey finished note, not to spicy on my palate, beautifully crafted sauce with extra crunchiness from Mexican slaw. This signature dish, cheese cake, came in 4 bit sizes... Very soft delicate cheese cake with base their version Tostada, I am guessing just kind of oven baked coconut biscuit, ( also toasted coconut flakes) and the hit of tajin salt was telling your brain that you are having "solid" margarita and some more the addition of dehydrated lime bring this dish complete to confused your brain.. Unfortunately Mejico seems to be one of those hip restaurants that focuses on the 'instagram-ability' of their food rather than quality, quantity or taste. Portions were very small for the price and as for taste, the food did not stand out. Don't go if you're looking for good value. The free beer for Dads on Father's Day was a nice addition. read more

I had a set drinks menu here for my birthday on a Saturday night. Staff were very friendly and helpful leading up to the event and attentive on the nignt. The drinks were delicious and as they were part of a package in a set menu there were plenty to go round. Can get a bit pricey when adding on food though. I went back for dinner on a busy Friday night and were seated at the bar as we hadn't made a booking though this was ok as there were only 2 of us and we could watch the staff making drinks. The guacamole and plantain chips were amazing as were the tacos. We ordered a couple more dishes and I had a delicious white sangria. Staff were lovely once again and we had a really good night. I'm not the biggest fan of restaurants trying to be something they aren't and this restaurant is somewhere in between wanting to be a Mexican restaurant and a douchey club spot. The restaurant looks more like a Thai fusion restaurant but all the kitschy dia de los muertos souvenirs remind you it's supposed to be a Mexican joint. I sat upstairs and my eyes kept getting drawn to this giant amount of skulls behind the bar. They weren't the Mexican stylised skulls just dark biological human skulls which has more in common with some kind of Ed Hardy subculture and not Mexican culture at all. Anyways onto the food. I had the beef short rib which was a slab of decently tasty beef placed above a cold bone which must've just been there for decoration. My dining partner had the salmon ceviche and the pork tacos. I tried the ceviche and thought meh. She was quite satisfied with her dishes even though I was left thinking what a waste of money. We ordered the churros and they were quite tasty even though $12 for 4 churros is a straight up ripoff. The only thing that gave this place more than 1 star was the staff. Everyone from the ladies at the door to the gent that took our order were great. High five for hiring such lovely staff, no five for the decor, music, and overpriced menu. read more

The food was great, however I think staff (I think it was the boss??) in shorts, runners and a hat (!) was taking it a bit too casual - when you can't tell the wait staff from the customers, you have problem!! It was just hipster b.s.: friendly enough, but I'm not your mate, I'm your customer and so bit of professionalism would help. Service can be slow at times but ultimately it comes down to the food. Sadly this restaurant doesn't make the cut in this department either. The presentation of the food appears to take front and centre over quality and taste. Dare I say it feels somewhat pretentious. This is by no means Mexican or modern Mexican. There is no authenticity to the flavour or any subtle bursts of flavour that inspire. Staff were okay. I don't think I'll be coming back here. Very disappointing. read more

Ive been twice and really like the food. Some of it prepped at yr table if you like. We had the lunch special which is well priced. Individual dishes though look a little overpriced for Mexican. The drinks taste great but like most places these days lots of ice and smallish portions (of course to make you buy another one!). Its the in the new Westfield Miranda- where everything is oversized and floorspace oddly shaped. So I dont find the decor inviting too much, as with many of the other eateries- can feel cold and hard. But they do give you blankets if you sit outside. Staff are cheerful and helped us with our pram by going thru the alternate door. read more

A fun and lively place to go for a great Mexican feast. The smashed guacamole is super tasty and fun when it is made at your table, the popcorn lollipops would be my number one recommendation! The sauce and spice is delicious. Chicken and pork tacos are also wonderful. read more

I came went here last week with my kids. The staff are young and chatty with energy. Its recently opened in front of the new Westfields in Miranda with many other new eateries , so they have competition . I had a cocktail with Tequila of course! possibly called Sunrise . My 7 yr old assembled her own kids size soft tacos from kids menu and older child shared plates with me. This is what was advised by the waiter who was very attentive and full of knowledge about tequila. Apparently they have the biggest collection of Tequila in Australia? World? universe? . The cheapest at $8.50 to most expensive $96 for a nip . There is a menu of Tequilas and a wooden hand held contraption that helps you choose your type of Tequila if you want to go there . I will come back with my friends to try that. We ended up with too much food . Im not really a fan of Mexican usually but was very impressed with the Guacamole and plantain chips for starters . The corn cobs with popcorn and a sauce was a first and probably a last . Great ambience but no bathroom !! Have to go inside Westfields for that . wasn't happy about this but it is what it is . Cant take the risk when kids need to go . Are they bored or do they really need to go this time.?? So you actually have to walk out of the establishment . Weird. In closing..... Yes kids can go . Yes Id prefer to take grown ups. Food is ok . Yes its expensive for Mexican food. The service is great . Cost me $104. Underwhelming....................The waiting staff were friendly and helpful BUT the food was a big disappointment. The orders (for 7 people) came out at different times and some were finished their meal before the others arrived. Some meals were cold, and generally the food resembled cafe food. The entrees however were excellent. We were all in our coats (as were the diners at other tables) and when we mentioned it the staff just giggled and agreed that it was cold/drafty. The guy on the front welcome station was very 'unwelcoming'.........maybe he thought that he was the front guy for a 3 hat restaurant!. All up, overpriced, underwhelmed and disappointing. Food OK but bit overpriced and small portions

Service was good but sadly the food did not meet expectations at all. The portions were small for the prices paid. The pulled pork nachos was disappointing, as the pork was overcooked and dry ( not much in the dish) and the corn chips served were burnt. The mushroom taco was greasy and the food had not much flavour or taste. Not sure if this place has changed owners but we will not be going there for dinner again. read more
