It is hard to get in and see him but that's due to so many people want him as their primary. It takes time to get in to see any type of doctor in this area. I was sad to see him go over to Pismo though since I live in Los Osos. He always came in with a smile and always first to ask how I was doing and if there was anything new I need to address with him. Wonderful doctor.

Yelper's and review Reader's... are you considering changing…read morefrom your current Doctor/Health care Provider to another? Let me again, as I have stated previously in my other reviews, start this by saying...everyone owns their own experience. That being said..I would not recommend Dr. Richard Day! He is now located (see pics) at a Dignity Health (Pacific Central Health Center) at Trilogy's Monarch Village Health Center at 1560 Mesa Rd, Suite 100 Nipomo,Ca. (Office phone number: 1-805-614-5641). My Spouse and I are in the process of "leaving" his practice due to, in our case, a total lack of professionalism. My past work experience is in the Dental field, as a Licensed Primary Health Care Provider, and I would never treat my Patients in the manner he treats us, and from what I understand...how he treats other patients as well. Our appointments with him are about as "hands-off" as possible. He walks into the examination room and sits down at his desk. Basically, all Dr. Day does is look over the Lab results he has ordered. He is polite and answers any questions you may have, but that's it...the appointment is then over. (As a former licensed health professional...this may or may not be due to his insurance companies policies, of how long he has for each appointment and how many patients he is required to see per day.) If either of us reschedules an appointment, due to an unforeseen work conflict, even though we reschedule the appointment and he and his Staff are capable of seeing that we are on his "books" for the near future, he "slows" his filling of prescriptions to the local pharmacy. I have gone so far as to speak to this issue with my Pharmacist, who then called personally to get the medication script filled. Never have I treated a Patient in this manner. Each and every Patient deserves to be treated in a professional and respectful manner, regardless of the course of treatment needed or choice of provider! The Patient has a right to change providers at will and ethically, the Licensed Health Care Professional is obligated to ensure that the Patient is provided for until his/her care is no longer under that Doctor's/Provider's supervision. At this point, since his office has checked the patient's "roster", and seeing I have scheduled with a different Dr., he has actually told my Spouse that he has decided to deny giving me a Lab Test Script to check on my on going condition. His office, at that point, may have violated the HIPA laws, not a good sign, by speaking to her/(someone else) about my health care/treatment. Lab or no lab...is okay by me (just another co-pay) but, how will Dr. Day continue to write my medication scripts without having the lab test results he relies on so heavily? Quite frankly, putting a "Patient of Record" in this position, is just unprofessional! In this Yelper's opinion Dr. Richard Day, formerly in Baywood/Los Osos, then in Pismo Beach and now in the Trilogy Development (Nipomo, CA) has truly earned this "absolutely do not recommend", 1 Star review.

Everyone made me feel comfortable and explained everything to me one step at a time. NP Hirsig was nothing but kind and really put me at ease with all of my worries. I would highly recommend seeing her. Thank you Bayview staff for the wonderful first experience I am happy to come back :)

Katrina Hirsig belittled me, blamed me, and flip-flopped her explanations and reasoning regarding…read moremy care. She said labs a specialist ordered for me "tell us nothing," despite my specialist recognizing a connection between symptoms, family history, and labs, and suggesting follow up. She did not return phone calls for over 10 days and instead made notes in my chart that I "refused care" when in fact she did not offer me care. So, I made an appointment in order to discuss my care, but Katrina did not come out of her office to see me during my appointment. I made a second appointment which she implied was unnecessary, repeatedly asking if I wanted to keep it (Yes, that's why I made it.). When I attended this meeting she condescendingly said she would, "Go over my labs with me again," when she had never discussed them with me. She told me it was my fault she didn't see the labs in the system (because of the lab I chose to go to). I could go on and on, but the reviews here already speak volumes--believe them all. Avoid this office at all costs! (Ariel in the office is great though, I hope she can leave this toxic work environment soon.)
