Great plumbing repair, but WAY, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!! Meetze Plumbing replaced the In-sink garbage disposal in our kitchen in June 2025. We bought the replacement InSinkErator, so that only remaining cost was labor. The technician in question was very courteous and professional, and finished the job in about 40 minutes. He did a terrific job. We're very satisfied with the quality of the work. But we still felt snookered by the cost -- the replacement job ended up costing us $531.25! I was charged $581.25 to install a garbage disposal. We already bought the disposal from HD, so this was the labor charge for less than 2 hours of work. My daughter was there and paid, not knowing that this was a rip-off. I wish that I knew their unfair pricing ahead of time. I spoke to the manager who said that this was the "going price" for the area. When I explained that HD quoted me $200 for the same job, he said too bad and this was what they charged. I laughed that at $300 per hour, they don't deserve to be in business. I imagine that they pay for their google reviews, because there is a significant discrepancy between Yelp and google reviews. There's a sucker born every minute...and the other day, it was me. I was having difficulty installing a new toilet. I have replaced them in the past but this one was made a little differently and I couldn't get it to sit on the flange correctly, so I figured I'd call the pros. Now, first, the folks they sent were nice, and professional. But I had already removed the old toilet and put the new one almost in place. I also needed the water feed to the toilet updated as it was a bit in the way of the new toilet. So, cut off the water, remove the old valve, put on a new one and bolt the toilet down. 1100 dollars for that?! I did it, because I needed the work done, but in hindsight I probably should have shopped it a bit before pulling the trigger. Well, it was a great way to get EXACTLY one transaction out of me. We had a tenant clog a main line on a Sunday before another guest check-in. I called Meetze Plumbing at 1200 on a Sunday and they had somebody there at 12:20 (they beat me to the property). The tech, James, was very helpful, insightful, and gave a great analysis before having to purchase any options. He was off the property, clog removed, by 1330 in the afternoon. The timeliness, effectiveness, and experience with the process from dispatcher to the tech on scene was 5 star. I'll be using them for the next one. Meetze charged me over $400 to fix a slow kitchen sink drain. Their plumber did not fix the problem after about 4 hours work. In fact, after his visit the slow drain did not drain at all. The next plumber fixed the drain with an auger in about 90 minutes. read more

He charged me $2200 for 5 inches of pipe. I called because my master bathroom toilet was leaking. It was leaking from the shut off valve and in the tank I thought something was wrong as well. So a technician comes out and checks things out. A $49 service charge to come out. I got 3 quotes. 1 single issue quote for just the shut off valve @ $369 to fix. 2 a minor issue in the tank and shut off valve @ $1600 to fix and 3 a major repair: a complete new toilet of a total cost of $2800!!!. Absolutely ridiculous. Had a plumber come out for a second opinion and there was nothing really wrong other than a new shut off valve and stabilizing the toilet. Cost $100. So you see they are a rip off company, trying to get way more than you bargain for. DO NEVER CALL THEM!! And btw the 2nd plumber never charged a service charge to come out!!! read more

Wow! These guys are comfortable charging a lot of money. Maybe it's their pricing model, but $437 for a leaky shower is nearly insane. Now that they've cleared my service fee check, I see they're not even a local company. They are part of some large Kentucky holding mega Plumbing business! Who needs this at all? They could have used the uploaded video to diagnose the problem, but they wanted to charge the $49 service fee, and have the opportunity to look for problems with the hot water heater. If we want to avoid runaway inflation, consumers need to push back against pricing that does not reflect value. Columbia residents deserve better than this company. It's time to hold companies like this accountable for not only their work but customer service. I contacted them over 3 weeks ago to help with a problem. They quoted me over $5600 of work that didn't even address the problem I initially contacted them for. They claimed it was an internal communication problem. Ok, so I asked them to fix the problem. 2 weeks later they won't even talk to me. My neighbors in Forest Acres saw their truck and warned me about their overcharging and other issues. Still, they won't talk to me. Wish they had told be that they didn't want my $$$$ so I could move on. Update: they just charged my credit card $4500; the remaining balance of the $5600 job which wasn't completed. On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, I called to request a plumber for my rental property to provide an estimate for a leaking toilet. Mr. Vincent Considine was dispatched to come on Thursday, August 5, 2021. I was shocked, SHOCKED, that your company charges $732 labor for a plumber to check for a toilet leak, or to let me know if I need a new toilet. Initially I thought the amount included the toilet, but Mr. Considine informed me that the cost of a new toilet would be added to the $732 plus, he could not tell me what type of toilet he would install. He also told me not to call your office because no one would be able to tell me which toilet would be picked for installation because "that's how they make their money". During his visit, I was not able to meet with him. My tenant asked Mr. Considine to check for a leak under the kitchen sink. Mr. Considine informed my tenant there was a clog in the line. Mr. Considine called to let me know that the piping under the sink needed to be replaced. I clarified if he meant the pipes in the wall, or the pipes under the sink. He said the pvc pipes under the sink that are attached to the pipes coming out of the wall need to be replaced. Mr. Considine never mentioned to me that there was a clog in the line. I asked him the cost to fix the toilet leak and the kitchen sink piping, and I was given the exorbitant price of $1500! I told Mr. Considine I was going to call your office to pay for the service call, but I did not. Mr. Considine asked me if I called. When I told him I had not, he said he would take my debit card information for the $49 service call. The next day I received an invoice for the $49, but I also received an invoice that was not mine. I sent an e-mail to your office about the invoice. A young lady from your office called to let me know there is a system problem in your office, which sends incorrect invoices to customers. So far, I have not been charged for anything on that invoice, which also included pictures that were not of my property. Thursday evening I called another plumbing service to come on Friday, August 6th. I was given a cost of $125 for labor plus parts. I used that company instead. The plumber from that company repaired the toilet for a total cost of $135. I asked the plumber to check the kitchen sink problem. He informed me that he did not find a clog, but he did find a leak in the connection that joined the pvc pipes to the pipes in the wall. He repaired that for me as well. His total cost for the day, which included the toilet repair, was $313. I almost had a heart attack after Vinccent Considine's $1500 verbal quote. I was astonished that the company charges extortionist prices for simple plumbing tasks. I do not understand how Meetze Plumbing can justify charging people those prices. read more

We were notified by the water company about a leak. It was found to be under the house. After contacting 3 different companies for an estimate we chose to go with Meetze and I'm glad we did. One of the companies came at 4pm and not prepared to fix the leak just to get the fee for an estimate. The other called back two days later. This USED to be far the best plumbing business in town. Expensive, as in much more expensive than everyone else, but you got quality service. That's all in the past, except for the expensive part. I've poured close to 20,000 into this company this year alone, a total house repiping and a tankless water heater and more. But they didn't complete everything that was in the contract, they take weeks to get back to me after repeated calls to finish the job, and then they have the gall to bill me $400 extra for work I've already paid for. When I try to address the 'error' they stall and avoid calling back. "Someone will get back to you soon" is the answer I get week after week. WaterHeater On August 17 I had my waterheater replaced by Meetze Plumbing. Total cost came to just over $3,400. The company does not provide a breakdown between parts and labor. However, I see my Rheem 50 gallon 'Professional Classic' selling for less than $1,500, so I'm figuring the 4 hour job ran a lobor charge of about $475.00 per hour. The unit was expertly installed & the work area was left neat and clean. The skilled technician actually took less than 3.5 hours, but that would put the hourly rate close to $550/hour in my calculations. read more

The technicians that came out for a service call last Friday at our residence were very professional and friendly. However, I am compelled to let others know the obscene pricing that we were charged for a non emergent and simple fix. For roughly $6-8 of PVC piping and 1.5 hours of work, they charged us $649.68 - $113.75 of which was for a difficultly/limited access for a spigot in a walkway in the front yard under about 4 inches of dirt. I called them two weeks ago to unclog a toilet. I ended up having to replace the toilet. It cost me 600.00 to replace the toilet. They didn't even tighten it right, use the correct wax ring, or even caulk it right. So they came out the following weekend to tighten it. Of late, I have been very disappointed with Meetze Plumbing. I have been overcharged and advised to have several things corrected that were not relevant to the service I requested. I was charged $89.00 for some annual membership (my word) that waives the 49.00 trip fee. (When the service charges were added, the plumber told me the charge is cheaper with the $89.00 fee).
