Wait room furniture is a dilapidated and not sanitized between guests.
Kita B.

I figured it would be less of a wait than John's Hopkins, but it was 4.5 hours. I drove in from the Cherry Hill entrance & the ER signage wasn't very clear. So I parked far & entered the wrong part of the hospital. I was instructed to go back outside and around to the ER receptionist. At check in, not only was there non-working staff socializing but only one receptionist attending to guest behind the desk. The receptionist (guy) was nice, but a little flustered and in need of assistance. While most the staff were sweet in demeanor, I felt uncomfortable that I was encouraged to say my ailments loudly to both the receptionist & intake clerk because everyone in the room could hear them too. It wasn't their fault, it's just noisy, but imagine if I were there for something intimate. That lack of privacy feels like a HIPAA Violation. I think this needs to be done in a more private setting out of respect for patients. I could hear other patient ailments, medical history, birthdays, & the company they work for from the waiting room. I waited about 4.5 hours before getting past intake. Then there is only one bathroom stall for each person to use in the wait area so there were lines to produce specimen and use the restroom. Once I got back, I was treated for another couple of hours. I have to say that night nurse K. Paige & Dr. T Katz were exceptional to me. In the 8 hours that I was there, I have to say though, that I only seen one person cleaning outside of the ER rooms. A patient regurgitated in the wait room trash can, another bled on the floors of intake, & none of those were cleaned my entire 4.5 hour wait. I would improve wait times and cleaning overall. Logistics & finesse could be tightened up a bit. But the nurses/doctors are knowledgeable.

Nice modern looking and clean building. Had trouble navigating to the coffee shop The hospital has actually two eating areas on the ground floor they have a cafeteria the closes right after lunch. On the first floor which is where I grabbed a personal pizza. They open late. Very helpful and friendly staff

The valet attendant, Sherrill, was very pleasant in handling our valet request and wished us a safe visit. Once we got to the department, we were checked in and given the discounted parking validation ticket to retrieve our car after our visit. We were called for the procedure within 10 minutes after the appointment time and greeted by a pleasant staff person, who led us to the procedure room. The type of care that was provided was satisfactory and made us feel "seen". The care quality was good as well during every step pre- and post- procedure. All in all, a nice pleasant experience at this hospital, if your insurance covers procedures at this hospital.

The surgery was…read moresuccessful and she spent a night in ICU and 4 additional night in a regular room. 95% of the staff (doctors, nurses, techs, etc.) were super nice and attentive. My wife had a spacious private room and I was able to sleep there on a super uncomfortable sofa for the duration. I appreciated this as my wife had never spent a day in the hospital and was very anxious. The building is dated and nowhere as nice as Sibley where we would normally go, but the attention and service was great.

I should have looked here to see the 2.5 star rating before I even reached out to them but I had…read morecalled because I saw lots of good ratings for a specific doctor there who might be a fit. Called Johns Hopkins Hospital today to try to schedule a consult. I started off saying that I had an MRI with certain results noted and wanted to schedule with a certain doctor for consult. I was given a lot of pushback by the scheduling person that I needed a confirmed diagnosis. We went back and forth multiple times and finally she was like oh your MRI note qualifies as a confirmed diagnosis. Wild considering I said it a couple of times already though I don't know what exactly a confirmed diagnosis is as a patient! Then she proceeds to ask for all this information on DOB, address, demographics, and other info. Creates an account. She only asked if I allow texts from the clinic for notifications but not if she can create an account. Then says you still need to gather your medical notes and imaging then upload in one spot and fax in another. Then subjected to a review before knowing if I can see this one doctor. Or I can go on their website and pick another doctor to request a consult and that doctor will confirm if it's a fit. Either way it feels like it was an invasion of privacy without consent or desired outcome...I only want to provide all this info if we're actually scheduling something and I thought that was where we were headed. It was not. I feel like this process has major data privacy issues - creating an account without asking me, collecting personal data without need, and just wasting my time in not even being able to set an appointment. I provided all of this only to find out that no we can't schedule an appointment yet and I never gave consent to creating an account like this (got a text message saying an account was created) and would not have if I knew I was not being scheduled at the end of all this back and forth. It should be upfront that this is the process then asked if I want to proceed. Instead, all the data was collected then I was told. The initial pushback suggested that I had to undergo a review by a group of folks to approve for Dr. He to see me because I didn't have a confirmed diagnosis. Then it turned into this is just the process in general to see him. Overall, process was incredibly frustrating and I would not wish it on anyone who is going through a trying medical time. 1. Pushback based on saying I didn't have a diagnosis when I already shared what she was looking for even if I didn't know what she was looking for 2. Pushback trying to redirect me back to my PCP for a diagnosis when I shared the MRI finding and that my PCP said it is best for a specialist to handle next step as we were not clear what to do 3. Pushback saying I need a group of people to review my case to see if the medical circumstances qualify for Dr. He to consult on because I supposedly didn't have a confirmed diagnosis - fine but then we confirmed the diagnosis and then it shifted to this is the general process 4. Pushback that I misunderstood her pushback that I either do all this legwork of collecting paperwork and uploading and faxing in two different spots to hopefully pass this mysterious group review to schedule an appointment or find another doctor and request a consult and hope they believe it's also a fit While I don't doubt the doctor is great, the front door to clinics is incredibly important - not only to help ensure the providers can focus as much as possible on what they do best but also being responsible in how they interact with patients and their data.
