I came in earlier today to get some pre-rolls and the receptionist told me that my favorite receptionist Maile had quit. My name is Ruben and I've been coming to this dispensary, and I always loved her spirit her personality the way that she always welcome us as guest into the dispensary. She always had good conversations always put a smile on everybody's face, her attitude and everything was such a plus she was going through so much trying to work and also take care of her mother, which I understood that her mother was having complications with a stroke and high blood pressure. It's sad that she had to quit and worry about her mom when her job didn't understand how much pressure she had on herself. Maile was a perfect match for front desk receptionist at a dispensary definitely gonna miss her and I don't know if I will come back to this dispensary knowing that she's no longer here. I've been coming here for the past two years and she is the first person that I've ever known that brought good customer service. I know a lot of people are going to definitely miss her and her spirit specially walking into the dispensary she was such a hard worker such a good person. I didn't know her personally, but I knew that she was going through a lot after the death of her dad and then dealing with her mom's health issues and trying to work hard, no matter what she was going through, she always put a smile on her face, especially with the guests. They definitely need her back. I would definitely recommend her at any job with CUSTOMER SERVICE. We're all definitely gonna miss her. You guys had such an amazing employee when it came to her. It is crazy that this dispensary has anything other than five stars they have the best bud in town for the best prices and their staff is always amazing ... everywhere I go from Show grow to essence to rise. You are all got dry, crispy, bud. I do think Planet 13 and magazine need to cater to locals more but even with where they are right now their deals for the kind of but they have are the best in town. We normally go to planet 13, but lately we've been wanting to switch it up. Medizin was the original, and they founded Planet 13. Their flowers are sold at planet 13 at a great rate for locals. However it was a bit disappointing that this location didn't offer a local discount. I was happy to see the Mike Tyson Nights Out gummy line, but it ended up being melted and all clumped together. :(. They were on sale for $50 for five bags, so now I have five melted bags of Gummies. I'm trying to eat through. I didn't see Daily Grape being sold here, which I always buy of theirs at a planet 13. Service is good and the staff is always very friendly. The selection is stifling however. There is always plenty of Indica strain available. Unfortunately the Sativa selection is limited. Their prices are competitive and they sometimes throw in a token of their appreciation for your patronage. This is my go to shop even though it's about a short 20 minute ride. Located off the corner of Sunset & Decatur, near the 215 freeway is Medizin. They have a spacious lobby for you to sit, while waiting to be called. Numerous screens showing a variety of products. Not to mention plenty of products on display. Staff is always welcoming with a smiling face. Just show your i.d. and have a seat & wait till your name is called 02) some of the employees in my personal opinion just don't know what's going on around them 03) I've come across an issue where I used a certain phrase / slang term and me and the budtender both had completely different interpretations, case of just asking questions but not taking the time to ask the right questions. Example: budtender: hey how are you doing today and what can I help you with? Are you looking for something in specific ? Concentrate/ flower ect ect - all sounds perfect right, yes but no. Me: I'm looking for flower, I want to get baked/wasted / toasted / f'd up / High AF/ Rudolph red eyed ect ect Budtender: so you want to go to sleep? Me: irritated and frustrated , we're obviously speaking different languages bro These questions not only be re-worded but rephrased as well to help not only be more direct but to assist in gauging which direction to point the customer in Unknown: online / pre-orders, I've never tried this service so I can't comment on it. Typical weed store, makes you wait in the outer area for the next available salesperson. They all seem to do it this way but I would prefer the quick in and out, I already see the offerings on the website and I have no desire to talk with a salesperson. Why they can't understand this and at the same time claim this is one of the things this "medicine" is for, is a mystery. Pricing is all over the place with a large selection. Generally good compared to "Retail" prices. I've been trying to try the Medizen brand for a few months now but can't get them to deliver. I am a rewards member. I have visited the store once and they scanned my ID and gave me a card to have stamped for their rewards program. Obviously I'm a local resident because they have my ID with name, address, phone, and they collect it again when you order online (scanned ID). I have tried placing this order 3 times now and they just try to call instead of delivering. They don't leave a reason for the call and the return number they give is a switchboard number so WTF? We frequent Medizin at least once a week. They offer great specials all the time and also offer a loyalty program which notifies you of daily deals. The employees here are very knowledgeable and professional. They listen to exactly what type of effect (high) you are trying to achieve and give great recomendations. They give options and also explain the product very well to make you feel comfortable trying something different. I'm an edibles type of gal and I love their chocolate bars in affogato and chocolate & cream. The watermelon synergy dew drops tastes great and are also my top pick here. I make sure to stock up when they have specials. My husband likes the indica vape in the Mary Chino flavor. That cute lil tiny white vape pen packs a wicked punch. They're located on the opposite side of town from us, but we'll still make sure we make our way over to grab some goodies. Shout out to the buddy Phil T for introducing us to this spot. read more

Super weird vibe! Second time here. It was akward the first time, but I bullied through their proceedure and left it at that. Decided to drop in today, months later.... this time it was so weird, I walked out without making a purchase. You have to be escorted by a host who will shadow you extra close and only show you what you ask to see after berating you for not knowing their "specials" and interrogating you about what you are "looking for." What am I looking for? How do I know if I'm not allowed to see what's in the store? 1. I'm grown up....don't need a baby sitter. 2. If I have a question, I'll ask. 3. Even in the weed store, exposed hickies on the employees is not a good look. PS: $150 1/2 isn't a "sale." Neither are $10 1/2 gm pre-rolls or 50% off $420 zip. Those are market prices. I like Planet 13, but I dont love um. They price their flowers ridiculously high, however, when you catch a 50% off sale, suddenly you're buying some of the best shit in town for the price point. I got an 8th of Chloe, an 8th of OGKushBreath, and an 8th of Grape Valley Kush. What I would recommend to folks spending money at Planet 13? Be patient. Do NOT buy from them unless they have a sale. I am a returning medical customer, and have accumulated enough points to redeem a "$10 reward", towards a purchase. I called today, October 31, 2017 at 3:30 p.m to verify that I could use my "$10 reward" in conjunction with their special. Please see my attached photos ( a text message from Medizin and proof that I called at 3:30 p.m.). However, when I entered Medizin and was ready to check out, I was told that I could not use my $10 reward in conjunction with the promotion they had going on, which was 40% off all Medizin branded marijuana. Clearly, I was disgruntled. Not only was I treated as a low priority customer, but I was adversely affected by Medizin's false advertisement/lying. I ended up purchasing the eighth anyways (because its Halloween and was on a time schedule) but will not be returning. At Essence (W. Tropicana) and The Dispensary (Trop. & Decatur) down the street, a medical customer is allowed to use rewards with promotions. I have read several negative reviews about Medizin and did not understand why, now I do. HONESTY is NOT MEDIZIN'S policy. Proceed with caution. read more

I haven't shopped at Medizin in well over a year since their customer service has gone to hell and they have such a limited menu, but I thought about hitting them up on my little birthday dispensary tour. I called the store 30 minutes before I even got there and asked if they offered any birthday specials. The guy on the phone told me that I could get a free pre-roll in store and never mentioned anything about needing to make a purchase in order to get it. I get to Medizin, check in and my budtender was actually super dope and a really nice guy. He recommended a couple of different strains, but it's Medizin, so you know they're not gonna have everything they advertise. We find a pre-roll that works for me and he tells me to meet him at his register. He goes on with the purchase and says that he has to get a manager to put in the code, completely understandable. He approaches a group of 4 employees, and tells them he needs a birthday pre-roll code. One of the manager says something along the lines of "I guess I'll do it, godDAMN" and comes over and puts the code in without even looking at me. After he puts it in, he looks down and says "is this all he's getting?" My budtender looks at him and says "yeah man, he's doing the dispensary world tour today". The manager, Gaylen, looked annoyed and said "ridiculo--" and cut himself before he could finish the word. He then let in an annoyed, exaggerated sigh and said "alright, I'm gonna let it rock this time but next time it's with a purchase". Just completely smug, like I was some bum coming in begging for free stuff. I told him that I don't have to get the pre-roll and he was like "nah man go ahead it's okay". I walk out feeling so disrespected and looked down on over a $9 pre-roll. I WOULD'VE bought something else if it would've been explained to me in a way that didn't make me feel like a jerk. I asked the lady at check in for his name, and went back out to the car and ultimately decided to call P13's customer service line to tell them my story. I still felt upset and honestly felt wrong taking the pre-roll so I walked back in to speak with another manager and give the pre-roll back. To my surprise, Gaylen was in the box. I approached him and said "hey man, I don't feel comfortable taking this pre-roll after the interaction we just had so I'm just gonna give it back to you" and laid it on the counter, in the exit bag. Immediately, without any kind of remorse for the situation of any kind of apology, he jumps up and tells me that I can't leave the pre-roll, it's a state and compliance issue. His smug, arrogant, "i don't care" tone again pissed me off and I wish I would've just turned around and left at that point, but I asked him "so what happens if I just turn around and leave it there?" He tells me again that it's a state and compliance issue and if I leave it then I'll be banned from all Medizin and P13 stores. Finally I just look at him and ask him what his deal is? He says "my deal, where I'm GIVING you free stuff?" I told him about his attitude and replayed the entire situation to him. He straight up denied saying "I guess I'll do it, godDAMN" and told me that he never said "ridiculous". I looked at him completely dumbfounded since I'm not just gonna make all of that up out of thin air, and he then told me that he wasn't going to argue with me and I could either take the pre-roll and leave or leave it and get banned. I told him that I'll just give it to a homeless person and they'll have a better birthday than what I'm having. He smugly smirks and shrugs his shoulders and tells me "that's fine, have a GREAT birthday". At some point I told him that it was absolutely crazy to treat someone like this and that I was so sorry that he was so miserable, and he looks at me and says "I'm sorry you feel entitled to things you shouldn't have". Like excuse me, all you had to do was tell me that I had to make a purchase and not be a jerk about it. Again, I HAD NO PROBLEM MAKING A PURCHASE. I looked at him and said "F*** you.
