It was Sunday. My son had an ear problem that was making him miserable. Could have been an infection. Getting an "emergency appointment" with our GP requires empirical evidence that a limb has just fallen off. So, why not go to this place, I thought. I had seen the Medicentre in Victoria Station so that seemed the natural one to go for. I called for an appointment and spoke to a friendly receptionist who took salient facts and gave me an appointment later that day. We duly arrived- it is on the station concourse, or rather above it. There are no stairs and the lift said a maximum of two people! My wife therefore came after. We arrived early but was seen straight away. I cannot fault the Doctor Kyle saw-she was articulate and informative and did all the things a doctor should-taking time for background and then gave us a detailed diagnosis which fortunately was ear wax and no infection. The cost is £70 for 15 mins, which goes up after that (you probabaly wouldn't need longer). If you are in dire need of a GP but not in dire need of an A & E (thankfully) I would recommend this place. By the way, the receptionist said we could all fit in the lift for the journey down and we didn't plummet to the ground! read more
