No matter how good of a policy coverage one secures, it always a late realization that some or most part of it is not written off by the insurance and the facilities keep sending bills to insured. I personally have experienced such pain where if the facility is covered, the practicing doctors or technicians are out of network and paid hefty amounts on ER visits. This time i was looking for an Advisory/Consultant who can not only guide me through the policy purchase process but also represent me and work with me in case i see inconsistencies in billing. Shannon unlike most agents is not seeking to make a sale but trully assist. My 2year old was rushed to ER with swollen legs (potentially some alergic reaction/bug bite -reason couldnt be established), and Scotish Rite childrens care of atlanta, conducted a couple of diagnositics, antibiotics, Ivy and kept him under monitoring for entire day. I asked for a discharge to keep in the surveilance of home, though i was advised MRI. He was perfectly fine next day, and in a month i received close to 4K as a settlement amount despite of having coverage. Shannon, checked back the transcripts/medical codes and was quick to circle back with insurance company to re-process the calim. The decision is still pending, but i was pleased by her servicemanship and attitude to go extra mile. She is now a part of her family. Would recomend her - give her a try to creat your own happy testimony. (Will keep the forum updated on the settlement to prove her efforts were fruitful).

I was only there for 30 mins and they did not do any testing. So I called them, they said that the "testing" is a 9 question paper they had everyone sign. I asked where it was that I signed this would be additional to my office visit. Her (Kathy in the billing department) said "our prices are not posted" over and over. So, I asked her, since I DID NOT SIGN that it would be EXTRA, I'm not paying it or I'm calling Cigna. She legit said "You can call your insurance, it won't do anything. We charge this to every patient every time." I asked her to send me the paper where I signed it and she said she didn't have anything that I signed for extra services. So. I called Cigna, who is now in turn, OPENING AN INVESTIGATION on ALL claims because they are NOT ALLOWED to charge patients for something extra without disclosing pricing. The agent told me that should ALL BE COVERED in that $320 office visit. She herself tried to call and they kept hanging up on her. So, she got to see how they did AND is extremely interested in seeing how many other people they charged extra. Check your medical bills. They try to get you ANY way they can. At least now Cigna knows about their practices and are extremely concerned about how many fraudulent claims they have sent in. Disgusting, misleading practice. They will charge you whatever they want without even telling you.

I may not be in the medical field, yet my father was a Duke University trained surgeon, so I was raised with the highest level of care, and Dr Fajardo exemplifies, the best expertise I've experienced from a dentist, overall.
