You'd think it would be hard to get excited about getting a prescription, but today, weirdly I did.
With the other half jetting of to Fancy-land with work he needed special travel tablets, so typical me I went round to the local chemist last minute. They didn't have them but could order them, or I could try the chemist in King's Square. So I did.
What a revelation. Located on the far side of the Square which looks like it was last resurfaced in the 1980's, with an interior the polar opposite to the drab outside, Medicare has everything you could possibly need. The pharmacist was utterly helpful, not just dishing out the pills but checking that they were appropriate and giving good advice on taking them.
While I was waiting I had a little nosy round, and the place is amazing. You can pretty much get everything from a new handbag to athlete's foot powder and their makeup counters could rival Boots. The whole experience was so uplifting I can't wait to go back- hopefully not for medicine, but I'll definitely get a lipstick! ;-) read more
