Absolutely unacceptable. There is A SINGLE walk-in clinic for a city of one hundred thousand people and they close earlier every day. I live on the opposite end of the city and I have to pray to God I get in. And that's just to refill a prescription. Maybe if half the doctors in Canada hadn't decided to quit this wouldn't be an issue, but as everyone knows, the best way to fix a problem is to make it worse. read more

Covid-19 has made everything more difficult but they put Ppl on a waiting list and tell you to come back at a certain time. When you get there you have to wait for hours still. Unfortunately wwhen you call in to see how the timing is going they won't bother to check. Seriously? Why would they want ppl hanging around in the hall and waiting room for hours? My family doctor works out of this clinic and he is a great doctor, that is not where my complaints lie. The reception staff at this clinic are the rudest group of people I've ever met. They are always trying to rush you and they are ALWAYS extremely rude. I have been going to this clinic for around 5 years now and not once have I had a positive experience with the reception staff. They should all be absolutely ashamed of themselves for treating people this way; just a tiny little hint of compassion would go a long way. This clinic needs a complete overhaul and better management. I know most of us don't have a choice, but if you do, avoid this clinic like the plague unless you are fine with being treated like cattle headed for slaughter. read more

OMG. I read the reviews and thought... hmmm? I have never had a problem, then I phoned for an appointment. I guess it only takes one unhappy employee to make it look like they are all rude. The person I was talking to was a total B_ _ _ _! It was surreal to think that this is a person that deals with the public on a daily basis. I think she should really look into getting a different position. It was unbelievable. No compassion, no manners, rude, and talking over me constantly. After 4 days in a row showing up for the walk-in clinic ending turned away because they were already at capacity by the time that I'd walk since I stood in line for quite some. When I finally got to speak to you the receptionist I was flatly turned away because they didn't offer the service I required. As I have a phobia of hypogenic needles and required a shot of testosterone which I'm unable to give myself and I would suggest to me to go to a walk-in clinic I mean every possible effort to get there 4 days in a row only to find out when I finally got to this receptionist they weren't willing for her to do it anyways. When I expressed my frustration with them security became aggressive and hostile and told me that I had to leave and they were prepared to put their hands on me and then to make matters worse they then refused my girlfriend for her it needs because she was with me. If you have any other alternative perhaps going to another town or community in the near area Duncan might be a better choice Parksville or Ladysmith any place but this one! If I could read them at zero stars or negative five I would. the dr. i saw lied and undermined me because i refused a pelvic exam. he would not refer me to a gyno. i had abnormal tests results, he insisted they were normal. then he booked a procedure with a urologist without my consultation or consent. read more

Has become an urgent care clinic. I have to wait 6 weeks to see my GP now. I don't find that very helpful. It's like having no doctor at all

Been my go to clinic for walk in ever since I've lived in Nanaimo and the staff are very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I also received the majority of my care here after a MVA and they made dealing with ICBC a much smoother process. After having such a good experience, I decided to have my maternity care done here as well when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. Dr. Laura Barron has been my maternity doctor and she has made this journey a very positive one and has been such a huge support and advocate for me. She really listens and spends the time to answer any questions and makes you feel very comfortable and respected as a patient. The nursing staff as well are always very caring and friendly. I'm very happy with the choice I've made to come here for me and my little one. read more

As a walk-in clinic, Nanaimo Medical Arts Centre is impressive by the fact it deals with a large percentage of low-income patients and drug addicts who reside in the neighborhood. I depend on this type of facility for occasional medical advice, as I work in remote locations. I am not able to establish a regular family Doctor. Currently I am suffering an extreme condition. There is waiting list of 4 months to obtain my required surgery to relieve this. I have visited their clinic on two occasions searching for remedies. The first visit 2017 was helpful as that Doctor referred me to a specialist to obtain surgery, but my 2018 visit was an unpleasant experience which provokes me to write the following complaint. Their Doctor Brian Calvin showed no interest in helping to cure or relieve my painful condition, such as if I was another undesirable or perhaps he thought I was there to waste his time. read more
