I was left scrambling, with only 2 hours left in the business day, to find alternate transportation myself. Less than 48 hours later, the 2nd ride was also cancelled by the company the day before the scheduled ride; this time, I wasn't even called and given a heads up, I just received an email notifying me that I was being refunded. When I called to find out what happened, I was told that the driver called out and so they wouldn't be able to do the ride any longer. My father had to miss his dialysis appointment because the Friday afternoon cancellation left me practically no time to find him alternate arrangements. To say that my experiences with this company are disappointing would be an understatement. Be cautious and have a backup plan if you choose to book their services.

I contacted Cali Van and spoke with Nick. I explained the situation and my needs, as I would need no special equipment. I was informed that this is a common service they provide. This conversation took place on a Monday, and the upcoming Thursday was the day of the procedure. I was also told I just needed to give the company information to the medical staff so they would know who would be picking me up, and they would be able to coordinate the discharge time with their arrival. I used ride share to get to the procedure location. I gave the contact information to the nurse, who told me my transportation would need to be confirmed before the procedure could even begin. I was later informed they were not able to connect with anyone at Cali Van, and the voicemail was full. I then started calling and had the same result; no answer, and the voicemail was full. I'm now starting to panic because I had prepared for the procedure, and I had confirmed with Nick the date and time of my transportation need. Fortunately, I was able to find someone else to pick me up after the procedure. It's been approximately 3 weeks since this happened, and neither Nick nor anyone else from Cali Van has attempted to contact me to acknowledge their failure to be available for my scheduled pickup after a medical procedure. The lack of professionalism from Cali Van was unacceptable, stressful, and inexcusable for a company that is working with people in sensitive medical situations. Who just ignores a confirmed medical transportation appointment pickup? Cali Van Medical Transportation does!

Because of her narrow staircase which has a 90-degree turn to get upstairs to her bedroom, we HAD to have a "stair chair." I called several companies until I found Cali Van. They had the specialized chair and it worked beautifully. The driver sent out, Jasur (sp?), was kind, efficient, considerate, and cared about my mom. Mom (95 yrs old) had a fractured leg and had to be handled very carefully to avoid any unnecessary pain and Jasur treated her with kid gloves. The price was more than reasonable. They were on time (actually early!). With all the stress associated getting Mom home & coordinating all the other services, Cali Van was the ONLY ONE that performed seamlessly and didn't add to my stress level. I'm extremely grateful to have found them and recommend them highly.

I eventually received a call back from a gentleman named Brian and was able to set up a one-way transportation arrangement from the medical facility to a location in the South Bay for a reasonable price (in my case between $75-$100+). [Ride]: The medical facility accepted Sunshine Medical Transport's contact information as a form of transportation home. Driver was ready and on standby at the time of discharge. Our driver provided an excellent service and will make sure you or your elders don't fall on stairs and arrive at your doorstep safely. [Conclusion]: This is one of those services that comes in clutch when you need it and I can easily see myself using Sunshine Medical Transport if (1) I don't want to create inconvenience for others or (2) I want a trustworthy professional assistants to take care of elders during workdays when I can't take time off.

But luckily I did still get to have my surgery done because the doctor felt bad for me. But then they had to transport me home. Not a lot of conversation going on there. On our return ride will call, they first wanted to make us wait 3 hours for a pick up. Then I got them to agree to 25 minutes, still long considering Lyft comes in under 5 minutes. Then the driver never showed up. Also, they don't send confirmation texts giving you the car's description and plate number. Very unreliable and I'd never use them again. You get what you pay for.
