I almost never write negative reviews, but this experience was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not hire this individual.
I paid $375.88 for what was supposed to be professional landscaping work. He showed up roughly a week late, planted only a handful of flowers rather than what I understood we had discussed, and after looking up the flowers that were actually used, I found their total retail cost appeared to be less than $20.
Within two days, the flowers were wilting and dying despite the flower bed being watered every morning by our automatic sprinkler system.
What concerned me even more was looking closely at how the work had actually been performed. The flowers appeared to have been planted above the soil within the existing gravel and lava rock rather than properly planted into the soil. Based on the work I received, I seriously question whether this individual has the knowledge or experience necessary to perform professional landscaping services.
When I contacted him, I did not initially demand my money back. I simply asked him to come back and replace the flowers and make the situation right. Instead, he blamed me for the flowers dying, refused to work toward a resolution, stopped responding, blocked me, and canceled my future services through the platform.
I have photographs of the work, the placement of the flowers, and their condition.
Given what I paid, what was actually delivered, and how the situation was handled afterward, I believe I was materially misled about the quality and value of the services I was purchasing. I am now formally disputing the $375.88 charge with my bank.
I do not use the word fraud lightly, which is why I am stating the facts of my experience rather than making a legal determination. But I believe the circumstances warrant my dispute and further review.
I rarely leave reviews like this, but people deserve to know what happened before trusting someone with their property and money. Based on my experience, do not hire this individual. Find a qualified landscaping professional who will stand behind their work. read more
