Go anywhere else! After a 9 month hellish process of hearing "We have to have such and such approved by so and so" and hearing from each of the so-and-sos that their approval had been given months before, my girlfriend finally got her new chair. Yay! right? Wrong! After a 9 month wait, a 23 year old wheelchair bound girl was given a $300 Invacare chair. With footrests that blocked her from using her own bathroom, wheels that kept her from going up any ramps and all of the other amazing qualities you'd expect from a wheelchair made specifically for people living in extended care. After a short screaming match over the lackluster chair quality, we were informed that to get a better chair, she'd have to go to a seating clinic. This was the first we had heard this. Not during the process, but after it was supposed to be finished. So, we went back and picked up her old chair. Only to find out tonight as I tried to put her seatbelt back onto it that they took parts off of her old chair! They're not only negligent, but also apparently a chop shop! read more
