If you enjoy eating good food and can forget about counting calories for a night, then here's my bullet proof recommendation: Start out with the bread and the amazing garlic/Kräuter butter that will be offered to you. Take it easy on the bread, regardless of how delicious the butter is. You have to remain hungry. Order the Gamba's appetizer - it is served in hot delicious garlic oil in which you can dip your bread. But again, take it easy on the bread. This is where you had to go to get a decent stick in the cologne area. They know how to make steaks here, they're thick, fresh and juicy. I really know how to prepare the meat here, better than anywhere else. Every so often I would crave a steak after eating so much chicken and pork, prepared the German way. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but it's well worth it. If you're going to get any kind of steak in Germany, make sure it's at an Argentinian restaurant. Go to where you know they know properly prepare the meat and get the right cuts as well. A lot of German steak dishes, usually consist of behind her back side of the animal.
