If I could give a rating on a negative scale I would. When you have to use a facility like this for a loved one you trust that their needs will be met and the care will be on a level you're happy with.
My trust was shattered one Sunday morning when I saw my moms nurse, Julie, began to berate her for asking for her prescribed pain medication. Her bedside manner is awful. I heard that because she didn't need anything for pain from her night nurse that this nurse assumed she felt ok. (My mother was asleep during that night nurses shift) And since when does assumption come into play when you're a nurse?
The incident became one that made me sick. I tried to explain that my mother is in pain 24/7 and will need pain medication regularly. The nurse began to tell my mother, and then me, that she's/I'm not doing anything to help herself, I wasn't doing anything to help her either. I could take her here and there within the facility, but I just watch her lay in bed.
