I did not think that was funny at all. After the visit, I went to pick up the cough medicine and what I thought was to be antibiotics for my child. I was only given a cough syrup at the pharmacy. I called back and the same gentleman told me that there was only one mediciine and that the "cough syrup was just like an antibiotic." I called back again today (day three) to insist to speak to someone else and my daughter does in fact have an antibiotic called in. She has been suffering for three days now, and this person at the front desk could not even get out of his chair to be thorough enough to check on this medicine status for my five year old child. I cannot even begin to explain how disgusted I am with this staff member and the lack of care given to my child. DISGUSTING

Continuity of care was lacking with the VA so I cried like a baby to get back under her care. She will call you out when you aren't taking proper care of yourself. Crusty old Vets need someone like that to make them toe the line. She takes the time to listen, entertaining my ramblings describing my symptoms. Having medical experience as an EMT/Combat Medic, Dr Trimm's knowledge as a provider is evident to me. The Lady in the lab knows her stuff, able to draw blood on the first attempt with minimal discomfort. I've experienced a half dozen "stick" attempts at the VA previously with great discomfort. Timely communication through the "portal", received response from Tiffany two hours after requesting a date for my semi-annual appointment.

Once we walked in we were handed a clip board and my husband was told to give his ID and insurance card to get checked in. Next thing we know they tell us that we will get a bill mailed to us with the cost of service rather than being informed upfront what would be covered by our insurance. They ask him if he would like tests ran he said no only for them to tell him he needed a strep test to be sure. The woman then comes in with her hair still in a bonnet and dressed unprofessionally comes in without gloves on and with an open sterile swap and proceeds to swap my husband's mouth. I just cannot explain the level of disgust on my face to see how few precautions were taken on a strep test, I just hope nobody with COVID has been here recently judging as the staff clearly isn't being the most responsible with safety measures. Definitely won't be coming back to this germ infested ran down building unless it's the last urgent car in a 20 mile radius. But by all means if you're close by and need to be treated by "professionals" who act like they don't care and probably don't wash their hands seeing as they can't even remember gloves, go for it. But you've been warned. Oh, and the woman who preformed the swab? She also checked us in and took his vitals-- all without washing her hands, using hand sanitizer, or putting on gloves. Definitely one of the least hygienic places we've been.

The sense of urgency was completely absent. Regarding the IV and the catheter, the nurse seemed to lack knowledge, as she attempted to insert the IV four times without success, and the catheter nurse appeared equally uninformed about the procedure. We arrived at 12:00 PM and did not see a doctor until 5:30 PM. Only two members of the entire nursing staff seemed to show any genuine concern. If you value your life and the life of your family member, I strongly advise against going to River Oak Hospital. When every second counts, this is not the hospital you want to be in.
