I actually wandered around aimlessly, clutching Doppler's street address in my hand until I finally found it, and I'm so glad I did. The colorful little shop is bedecked with rich, beautiful bath towels, ironic plastic-print cosmetics bags, trinkets, doo-dads, and everything cute, lovely, fun and charming a girly-girl could ever dream of. I left having spent more than I would have liked, but I couldn't have left empty-handed. The owner was very sweet to boot. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and pretty gift for a gal.

Ah yes, kitschy Bavarian gifts!…read more Typically I am quite opposed to gift shops, but this one has a special twist. Nary a drindl or stein, nor mention of any type of beers. It's offbeat. It's colorful. It's not the standard touristy crappola...and your people at home might appreciate that. Surely everything resembles the stereotypical souveniers....but cooler. Mousepads, glockenspiels, racks of fake antlers, sausage sets (fake, obviously), magnets, funny tees (especially for kids), aprons, and the list goes on. Looking for something to truly surprise your significant family, friends, or other...without hauling a stein or shipping some beer? This is your place. Interesting books and paper, cards, stationary and postcards. Including a few guide books on interesting places to check out in the city... A tourist stop surely, but a cute one that stands apart from the rest. I'll be back before I make the voyage home!

This is one shop that carries Avoca from Ireland and Avoca shops in Ireland are super cool. Great place to pick up interesting bits of furniture, home decor, lights and all sorts of other display items for your living room or kitchen. Prices seem reasonable as well from what I could tell.

Kunst & Handwerk is apparently a long established arts and crafts store that is located in the…read morenorthwest corner of the Viktualienmarkt on the right side as soon as you turn the corner after leaving Marienplatz behind you. It is near the Metzgerais in the vicinity and occupies a fairly small footprint. They don't carry a large inventory, but they have quality handmade goods. They have a selection of small bags of varying tiny to medium sized with a pretzel thread sewn onto the side in varying colors. For me, they are sized perfectly for the torches, cutters, and other tools for cigars. Given the ceramics, hand stitched, and other handmade goods, one can find something to remember Munich. My little bag cost $25 Euros, which was a little high, but not too high for something handmade. 3.7 stars

I got some beautiful, unique pieces for home and a few gifts abs they were wrapped with great care by the friendly woman inside who spoke excellent English. Loved it! A bit pricey but not awful compared to other shops I've seen. Location is just as you encounter the old town hall in Marienplatz.

For example, we got a huge container of beautiful strawberries for less than 3 Euros and some awesome quality cheeses for less than 2. On the downside, their selection of cleaning products and toiletries was ridiculously small. All in all, this is a decent choice for basic food shopping, but if you need anything out of the ordinary, it's probably best to look for a bigger store.
