both my wife and I have the greatest respect for Dr. McOmber and the entire staff. we have struck gold in having the extreme professional services and quality we likely have not seen in some time. I had originally posted a good review on this facility, be very very careful. Read your contract. Make sure you ask what healing dentures mean. Once we got into McOmber dental for about $7,000 . We realized we had been taken. The woman at the front desk reminds me of a used car saleswoman. . We wound up both going to Clear Choice in Woodbridge. The Results were amazing. Clear Choice was very expensive but they were honest people. We got exactly what we wanted. The dentures that were made my husband have been in the garbage for months now. We had to go to someone that knew what they were doing. I guess the hardest part is I thought I was a good judge of character. Shame on me. read more

This is a phenomenal, family-owned practice led by the amazing, kind and professional Dr. McOmber. I have felt odd telling co-workers that I enjoyed going to the dentist, but that is true here - from Dr. McOmber to the hygienist, the staff and the other patients, it is apparent that all of them have been working or receiving treatment there for a very long time. I am just gonna say it now, I am a total slacker for not reviewing my dentist! I am so sorry, because this is indeed a 5-Star dental office. First, Mini-Me had some pretty bad experiences with dentist's in our previous home state of Calif, before a recommendation from friends pointed us in the direction of Dr. Molstad and her wonderful family dental practice. But like most things, things change, like when you move and in our case it was in 2013 to NJ and I knew no one- so it can be the luck of the draw on Dr's and Dentists. Which brings me to Dr McComber's office. From the first phone call to book our appointments, walking in and meeting the front office staff, to our meeting Dr. McComber, I knew we had found our family dentist. From the very beginning Dr. McComber took the time to listen to our Mini-Me and her fears, concerns and difficulties with her previous dentist history and Dr. McComber completely understood. She patiently talks Mini-Me through the visit, step by step, explaining what she is doing and why, how to brush properly and floss, fillings and teeth cleaning. The dental Hygienists are so nice and funny and have great chair side personalities they really make the visit pleasant. Front office staff is pretty great as well and when it comes to insurance and benefit coverage they explain it all and we always leave feeling good about our visit and honestly there isn't any of the "dental appointment dread" when we know it's time for our visit. So, I would say that we definitely got majorly lucky when we found Dr. McComber and her Family dental practice. read more

From the time you walk in the door this is not only a pleasant dental experience, it is pleasant overall experience. The office staff is consistently courteous, polite, friendly, and willing to assist with any treatment, insurance, our scheduling questions that you have. The office is impeccably clean and they all have a very nice demeanor. I have been going to this office for 2 years (every 4 months for routine cleanings and once for a full cap on a back tooth.) They are carrying and compassionate, and gentle- I have very sensitive teeth. My appointment times are always honored within 10 minutes and they send confirmation emails and calendar requests a week prior to your nect appointment. The only reason that I'm hesitant to recommend them is because I selfishly don't want the office to get too busy. read more

I still stand by my four star review for my cleaning in January, but after having a crown replaced and a new onlay done on two adjacent teeth I will not be returning. Now, to be clear, I have issues with novocaine (I numb very easily and the feeling makes me miserable and an utter bitch, while not being able to feel what's happening in my mouth makes me nervous and anxious.) I also become a mental patient when confronted with the sight, sound, and/or smell of the drill; it doesn't even have to be in any way associated with my teeth - if there's drilling going on in the next room I WILL panic, but I can deal with it. When I mention these issues, it's so we can all work together to minimize my trauma and thereby make their work easier. Namely, if there's drilling to be done, I need to know in advance to prepare myself, I need enough nitrous so I don't give a sh*t, and I need just enough novocaine to keep my from curling up into a cocktail shrimp on the chair, but not so much that I lose feeling to my entire head. First appointment, after asking that they be conservative with the novocaine, I was told that the doctor prefers copious amounts, but they would try to scale back. I had no feeling in the right side of my face and neck until the next day. Conversely, they were overly conservative with the nitrous, making my appointment unduly stressful, even after requesting that they increase it (it's not as if they don't charge extra). This was a first appointment though, a baseline, I figure in the future we can work from there, right? Second visit was supposed to be just removing the temporary and fitting and cementing the new onlay and crown in place. I was asked if I would like novocaine, as the teeth can be sensitive once the temporary is removed, but I declined with vehemence, restating that I DO NOT LIKE novocaine and can deal with sensitivity. But what's this? By the way, you will need novocaine; we need to make a few "adjustments". By "adjustments", we mean DRILLING. No warning, no time to prepare, NOT good. I really didn't want to have to reschedule, but to make a long story short, even after stressing that I received much too much novocaine at my previous visit, I was given a whopping shot once again and another for good measure and then drilled for an hour. The young man told me I looked as if I was about to cry when I came out. What this boils down to is, I need my dentist to listen to me and that did not happen here. I have since found my old dentist and will resume my hour and a half treks to see her once again. read more

Dr McOmber is not only 1st rate dentist but is compassionate, empathetic, gentle and sensitive to patient needs. She is truly a credit to her profession. The day of my daughters wedding my mother had a dental emergency. I knew Dr.McOmber is closed on Friday. I called to another dental office which was open and even after explaining the severity of the situation was told they could not get her in. Being a nurse myself I was astonished that an emergency could not be taken in. My daughter ( the bride) said call Dr McOmber she will call right away even though the office is closed. Sure enough not only did she call but dropped her plans with her own family to open her office and took my mother in ASAP. My boyfriend made an appointment for his son for a cleaning. He provided them the insurance information and a few days later they said it was 100% covered. They went for the cleaning and was told he needed $6000 in work and was billed $242 for cleaning stating it wasnt covered by insurance. He never paid the bill and was sent to collections.We went to another dentist who said he only needed $900 worth of work. We eventually paid the whole bill because they wouldnt even negotiate a price. This office is a rip off. I would give them no stars if possible. I have been to many a dentist over the years, I've liked precisely 1 other than Dr. McOmber, and I like her far better. The entire staff is fantastic, bending over backwards to accommodate the fact that I am living with leukemia. Dr. McOmber and Dr. Gluck went out of their way to explain that the cancer related damage was something that couldn't have been avoided. The slightest indication of pain is handled immediately, "you're just imagining it" is not a sentence you'll hear in this office. While I can't say if I'll ever look forward to going to the dentist (who can, really) , I will say that this is the best dental experience one can hope for. read more

Dr. McOmber is excellent. I was in excruciating pain, and she fit me in the same morning I called her which was the Monday after Thanksgiving. She has a welcoming accommodating staff, and an updated modern and very clean office. Dr. McOmber was very sympathetic to my pain and immediately referred me to a surgeon. Her staff made several calls for me while I was in the chair and I was accepted as an emergency patient by Dr. Elbaum who extracted my tooth, and my pain was finally relieved. Dr. McOmber is a very skilled physician who really cares about people. This was my first visit, and I was treated with compassion and as if I were a patient for many years. In my years of growing up, I went to a dentist that I wasn't too fond of, but then again, I hated going to the dentist. As I was growing up, I took good care of my teeth according to my first dentist. One day, she found a cavity, so she filled it. Not only did it hurt unbearably, she filled it so that it was fused to the other two teeth on each sides. After that visit, I knew it was time for a new dentist. I looked around online and found Dr. Mcomber. She seemed like a nice dentist online so I decided to make an appointment. My first visit to her, an x-ray was taken of my teeth as a baseline. Dr. Mcomber found 17 cavities, SEVENTEEN! Apparently, my old dentist had no clue what she was doing. The next appointment, I got my first two cavities filled. Quite frankly, I was scared out of my mind. My last cavity that got filled didn't go too well. I sat in the chair and was given some Novocaine to numb the areas that needed to be filled. Not only did I not feel a thing, the cavities were filled to perfection. After a series of visits, I now have a mouth that doesn't have any sensitivity to cold or hot liquids and no cavities! She told me how I was not brushing my teeth long enough and that I needed to start flossing. Now, when I go to get a cleaning, it barely takes 15 minutes. I cannot even imagine that any of these positive reviews could have been written by ANYONE, who is an actual patient of Dr Mcomber! She is extremely rude and talks down to patients and staff. Also, she tried to DOUBLE bill my insurance, and thank god my insurance caught this! She originally had send me out for a root canal on the WRONG tooth. If you're going to short with people, you should at least be a good dentist. Save yourself the trouble, find a better dentist!!! read more

I have been a patient of this office for 3 years now and can actually say I enjoy having my dental work done. Everyone in the office is so caring and in touch with my needs.
