Well, maybe it is just something strange with Dusseldorf, even though the two bigger cities that I visited didn't anywhere near as many Irish pubs as did Dusseldorf. Well, maybe it has something to do with the lack of things to do in Dusseldorf so everybody goes out to the pubs. Anyway, this is another nice Irish pub, but since I have already visited our others, it was difficult to distinguish it from the others. Personally I liked it, but that had something to do with it being quiet.

Anyway, this was the first I visited and the welcome that I received was so warm that I came back three more times (though I have to admit that the later experiences where anywhere near as good as the first - I guess it is the law of diminishing returns, and the bar staff didn't seem all that interested in a friendly chat). Still, considering that there are six other pubs, this once certainly did stick out from the crowd, even if only for the first impression I received.

So I had to subtract a star for that... on top of that, they have a woman sitting in front of the bathrooms with a donation tray. This always annoys the hell out of me, as it is extremely rude and shameless of the owner of any establishment to do this. If you pay for your drinks, you're paying for the upkeep of the bar too. So especially when you go into a bathroom that's not very clean or well-kept and then you also have to deal with the sad-looking woman on your way out, it really is no fun. And I go to pubs to have fun. If they don't have the money to pay her for her work, then raise the damn beer prices! Anyway, aside from the cleaning lady at the bathrooms, the missing whiskies, and the slightly dirty bathroom, it's a decent Irish pub. Especially after the one I visited on the previous night with the worst Guinness I had ever had the displeasure of receiving, and which cost more than the one here.

Food (4/5): definitely pretty good food here I think. There was like half a dozen of us and we all got different dishes. I got the vegetarian burger with fries and I was honestly pretty impressed. They have so much in it and the fries were perfectly seasoned and it even came with a small side salad with it! One got a crispy chicken patty but with all the veggie burger toppings which she enjoyed. Another got the crispy chicken burger which she thought was ok. One got a steak and was quite disappointed saying it could've been a lot better, however she is from Texas so nothing beats that. One got curry which she loved and two got pasta which they seemed to enjoy! Service (4/5): the waiters and servers were actually nice however they took a while to get our food out and the restaurant was not too packed with customers either. They apologized though and one was very sweet at teaching us some German phrases. Ambience/Interior/Exterior (3/5): I don't like how dark it is in the restaurant, but it is nicely set up inside. Outside looks pretty nice too however my only complaint is that the tables are on a slant so everything is slightly diagonal. Good place overall! However it is a bit pricey FYI!

In fact it seemed to be more of a craft beer bar, though being a craft beer bar probably doesn't preclude the place from being an Irish Pub. Anyway, since it was a craft beer bar, and that the beer I had was pretty awesome, I have to give this place the thumbs up. It certainly was a huge change from the other Irish Pubs that seem to be clustered around a couple of blocks. Also, the bartender was really, really friendly so I also have to give it points for that.
