I was taken here on a pink sheet. while in the ER I was grilled on basic medical information but was given no crisis care of any kind. when I refused to disrobe and put on a gown I was left alone for hours, only being offered foo. no crisis care as I huddled in a corner of the room. I was never evaluated told my rights or shown any compassion. at one point I was crying for my service dog who was taken by the police, when I became confused and told them my dog was dead, my previous dog had just died a few months earlier, they just walked away. after shift change they again came in to get me to put on a gown. I was verbally aggressive, cursing, and told them they would have rip them off of me. they said they could do that and began discussing that right outside my room. at this point after four hours of fight or flight hiding like an abused animal I snapped and began hitting th wall. of course this led to restraints. As they restrained me the nurse laughed and one of the orderlies told me this was my fault. I was left this way until I agreed to change. they made me do this in mixed sex company. they took my blood without consent while restrained. I was then shoved in a room and left. the doctor did not show up to interview me until the next morning. he again only did a standard medical history and told me my wife said I was suicida. never told me my rights, never told me I could make phone calls or have an attorney. the social worker showed up I simply told them to go read my file and was still not informed of anything. it was not until day three that I was show. any compassion by the staff. this was when the nurse noticed I was not eating, had not eaten or had anything to drink for three days. my gown was sold due to it being three or for sizes too big and falling in the toile, I had not left my room in that time and thouhht I was locked in. The doctor showed ip on this day and explained the meds and that he wanted to wait till the next day to check if they where working and only after I asked did he explain the process in very brief terms of how the hold worked and still did not tell me my rights. The social worker came in later and asked if I was ok with her starting a safety plan with my wife, who I refused to see, and if they could give her my code. I said I did not care but was not aware of what the code was until I finally got my intake paperwork and she also told me I may be discharged that day, contrary to what the doctor told me. I was moved to a different ward and given back my cloths. Long story short they kept me the full 5 days counting weekends even though I never saw a doctor again for more than 5 minute, no therapy no questions or interest in why I was there. My wife showed up to my surprise which if I was not stable. They began discharge the next day but then told me I had to stay the fu hold time which is not correct or legal. I was forced to leave with my wife when discharge also not legal. I was never evaluated even with knowledge of my traumas they were not taken into account for my care or reasons for not being willing to disrobe. I was not treated as a person for much of the first three days simply left in my room so long as I was quit. I was never told my rights my possessions where gone through without me present and I was made to sign off on the inventory.
