Since using the magnet table at Dr. McGraw's office I've experienced unmatched pain relief. I highly recommend trying it for yourself.

I previously had inpatient at their facility in Allentown. This was back in 2017. I spoke to a lady…read moreBobby Jo. She works the reception, she was nice at first and said she would help with my insurance to see what and if I was covered. She said she would need a few days and that she would call me back. Few days goes by and she would call us back and say, "I spoke to your insurance and I was looking through your paper work and you do have 30 visits." We questioned her are you sure cause I used my 30 visits inpatient. Nope you are all set I made sure you are covered, said Bobby jo. I said ok we will be in. Only thing is you have a $40 co-pay. I said no problem. We go there and pay my co-pay I get a receipt ever time I go there. The physical therapy I have been getting was not that great. Now that I have been going to Kessler, it is night and day. The types of exercises they had me do was ridiculous. Why? Cause they would show me to an exercise and they would leave me and take care of another person. For weeks it was like this. The same exercises every other day. It did not change. But at that time I did not think anything of it. I gained absolutely nothing from good Shepard. Their sessions was a joke only cause no one was there supervising you in how you are doing, why you are doing it and the results you should be seeing. Anyways my 30 visit outpatient was up. So after a few weeks later I get a bill from good Shepard. The bill was in the amount of $12,000!!!! I laughed and just was in aw. I called the accounts receivable and spoke to a Karen I believe. She said you had no coverage and it was up in September. I said Bobby Jo had called the insurance company and verified I was covered. Long story short they decided to cut my bill down to $3800. The lady Bobby Jo was nasty to us, she was saying I never had insurance and that I should of checked. I said then what about my co-pays? Where is co-pay money??? I have receipts for every single co-pay I spent! She had such an attitude it was unbelievable. We spoke to the director at good Shepard and told him what happened. He said he would look into this and get back to me. He emailed me back and says the balance is gone you have 0 balance. I emailed him back saying where is my co-pays? He said he will get back to me. Til today no one has gotten back to me. You see in conclusion, can't trust anything in Pennsylvania, that is why I went back to jersey. I learned my lesson. Good Sheperd is a good rip-off. Stay away from everything that is good Shepard.

However, the staff treated my mother with care and looked after her needs. They dressed her in the morning, brought her ice and water, brought her meals to the room (by request), and were always friendly doing so. If I asked them to look in on her, overnight, they agreed enthusiastically. Meds were distributed at the appropriate times. Physical Therapy was daily or twice daily. The therapists were friendly, encouraging, and thorough. There were daily events, such as bingo, 'bowling,' and music events. Food was mediocre at best. This is the one area that can easily use improvement. As also mentioned, my mother's hearing aids disappeared, and only one re-appeared a few days later (UPDATE: One month later I received a call that the hearing aid was found. Thank You Dana!). My mother received a nice blanket, as a Christmas gift, from Whitestone. After a 13-day stay, release was on New Years Eve day. There *was* a slight mix up, as it seems the folks on duty weren't expecting her release. But, after a short wait, and some calls, we moved on. Whitestone arranged for my mother's continued, at home, physical therapy, and have checked in on her progress. Hats off to the employees here. It's a thankless job. They do it. In these type situations, it's easy to find things to criticize. Whitestone impressed me, when I was expecting very little. Thanks to you all!

My family had an extremely disturbing experience at this facility, to the point that we filed a…read morecomplaint with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. If I could give zero stars I would. My mother, who suffers from MS, COPD, and end-stage coronary heart disease, was sent here for rehabilitation and stayed for only one night due to the level of neglect she experienced. During her first night, I was on the phone with her when she began having significant difficulty breathing. While I remained on the phone, she repeatedly pressed the call button for assistance, but no staff member responded. She then began calling out for help multiple times and was still ignored. I personally attempted to contact the nurses' station and spent over an hour repeatedly calling with no answer. The facility's phones also appear to shut off after a certain hour, making it nearly impossible to reach anyone in an emergency situation. As my mother's condition worsened, she became terrified and believed she was going to die. All I could hear over the phone was her crying out for help while no one came to assist her. Ultimately, my mother had to call an ambulance herself. When EMS arrived, staff allegedly attempted to prevent them from entering and dismissed my mother's medical distress as though she was overreacting. After being transported to the hospital, doctors discovered she had a massive fluid buildup around her heart, which was causing her severe breathing difficulties. Had she not advocated for herself and called 911, the outcome could have been tragic. Based on our experience, this facility demonstrated a shocking lack of urgency, compassion, and medical responsiveness toward a critically ill patient. Families considering this facility should thoroughly research and proceed with caution. The staff's negligence and incompetence nearly resulted in my mother losing her life.
