Pat knew this, and knew I couldn't source through him, but was extremely helpful and knowledgeable showing me around the store. He helped educate me on the differences between the options I've already selected, helped order me samples to see the difference in shades, and helped explain that Lomax is the price leader and will match competitors up to 150% with free install over a certain sq footage.... I think that was the right number? He even explained that lots of new construction owners will go with standard included options and hire Lomax to rip out and install superior products cheaper than what the builder would have charged. Really impressed with his level of support, and plan to follow up to put flooring in our unfinished spaces.

During my visit, I spoke with a salesman about flooring options and next steps if I wanted to go with one of the tile flooring options. I was told I needed to set-up an appointment with Dave, the contractor for a measurements + an estimate. I am really not a fan of businesses that like to farm out their contracting to outside parties because things never seem to go smoothly when the company isn't involved in the entire process. I received a call from Dave, on Monday 7/25 at 4:12 pm. He asked if he could swing by. I explained that the home we recently purchased is an hour away from where we live currently and I wasn't in the area. I was over an hour away at my other home. I asked Dave if we could set up an appointment for Thursday. Dave said we could. I received a call from Dave on Thursday at 11:58 pm. He told me he had just wrapped up a job and he was available for the rest of the day. I asked if 2 pm was good. He told me 2 pm wouldn't work. At this point, I am thinking I have to be on candid camera because he just told me he was available, but when I mentioned a time, the time didn't work. So, I told Dave I would be available the next day, which was Friday between 2:30-4:00 pm. When did Dave call?? 5:45 pm on Friday. Needless to say, I visited Lomax today to obtain a refund for services not rendered. I don't think Lomax is a bad place to buy flooring from. However, I do believe that they are losing customers and business because of their contractors lack of professionalism

Our experience with Avalon Flooring⁠ was a nightmare. There were repeated mistakes, poor…read moreworkmanship, and major delays. They installed vinyl in the wrong bathroom and even inside a shower, removed brand-new subflooring during corrections, installed the wrong threshold, and completed tile showers so poorly they had to be torn out and redone multiple times. We found uneven tile, improper installation methods, and even torn cardboard used as spacers. A third-party shower glass installer also questioned the quality of the work and was unable to install the Glass Shower Doors. The worst part was that Avalon never caught these issues--we had to identify and push for every correction ourselves. Their $1,300 compensation offer didn't come close to covering our losses in time, labor, and business. We documented everything with photos and texts. He gave me a Reasonable quote. The owners nephew (Matt) came, and took pictures of all the clogged vents, and showed me the pictures afterwards. All vents are cleaned, and he de-clogged our dryer vent. Afterwards, they readjusted the quote, Because many of our vents were Floor based, which takes less work to remove. I highly recommend them for duct work, and they will will be resurfacing our hard wood floors. I'll give another review upon completion if that work. Very pleased with there response and service.

Then they got here, didn't know how to deal with uneven floors. Decided not to rip out all of the old ceramic tile, even though it was part of the fee quote. Refused to call me at work to discuss after my wife told them to repeatedly. The next day, They were behind schedule because of this, I got them to tear out the old tile, but they left the floor VERY uneven, you can fell it moving under your feet in some places, The refrigerator was so uneven, the doors did not close properly. They kept asking me to pay the balance, I told them they had to fix the floor under the refrigerator, two more visits later, they got it level, but the rest of the floor, they have refused to address or respond to. I paid the balance, let them know it was under protest. They could not care less. Buyer beware!
