We heard Spanish speakers plus cops, firemen and animal control officers. Upon entry you are greeted. You must wait to be seated. We received complimentary chips and salsa (very authentic), we were offered drinks and given the menus. So much to choose from. We settled on the Poncho Special plus cheese enchiladas. They both came with rice and beans. The Ponchos special had such flavorful meat and the enchiladas were so cheesy. Both not easily forgotten. The beans and rice seemed to be from scratch and each plate had a bit of lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Two rules. You need to wait to be seated and you must pay in cash. If you are stopping by the casinos, traveling down highway 80 or just in town give them a try.

No windows. No signs of life. A little ominous. But we trusted the process. It was the tiniest lil' bakery shop of all time. The nicest man was behind the counter, available to help us & answer any questions we had. Almost everything on the shelves was priced at $1. We loaded up bags & bags of pastries - Things we didn't recognize, things we thought looked interesting, things that were colorful, things that smelled good... Our total was $16. We gave the nice man a $20 & said keep the change, because it felt like we were making out like bandits. I can't eat the pastries because I'm gluten intolerant, but I've watched my family members taste test everything from our haul & the response has been a resounding WOW this is so good. They are generally clean and offer a lot of drinks, snacks and gas for those on the road especially in low populated areas. This is a more populated area due to the casinos. The African American young man who works here is super friendly so check out with him! People make Maverik successful and he is one that contributes to their good reputation. Womens bathroom was so so clean but the store was clean. Gas prices were high for Nevada. View of the mountains there was primo. Worth a stop
