I ordered a $15.90 meal of Vegetarian Burger and chips…read more First of all, my host recommended me their vegetarian burger, and I have to say I like it, pretty much. It has different layer. According to the menu, it composes of smokey eggplant, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushroom, warm haloumi topped with herb mayo and mint yogurt. I am very pleased with this burger to be honest with you, and it is very dimensional. When I take a bite of it, all the flavors come together and blend in together, and give flavor to the initially flavorless ingredients. The bun is pretty nice and not over powering, so when you eat it, you taste a lot of the middle main part and not mouthful of bread. When I eat it, the layers also don't slide around and fall off onto the plate, which is a great thing -- but the sauce and juice does slide off and even with my best ability, a half piece of tomato still slide from the bun onto the plate. (The second time I went there, it is not that salty. So it might be an occasional thing. It is good though. Sorry, I mean GREAT.) Down side of the burger is also that towards the end when I eat it, it becomes more and more salty, maybe from the sauce or the tofu. I am not sure what it is, but it just become more salty and the rich flavors start to fade. I really like the burger when it starts off with the blend of salty and sour-y -- just eat the burger with all the layers and don't leave just a few in the end (like gnawing off the eggplant of the mushroom) so you can remain the balance of the flavors and maybe don't get left off with the saltiness. Then let's talk about the chips chips chips. The chips are in a curly ring form and mostly these kinds of chips will retain a lot of the oil and be able to remain its crispiness. In my opinion. Sooooo. These chips are great, not too salty and also crispy, still remaining its slight elasticity from being a potato, and nice, and doesn't kill your throat afterwards. I love them. Conclusion: Lovely burger, but the saltiness in the end is a bit over powering that I cannot give a 5 star, and lovely chips. It is really nice, to be honest with you. Opinions on price: $15.90 is pretty expensive to some degree, but it is worth it. Just don't use all your money on it. That's all. Because you might get addicted. Really.

With its fantastic quality foods, it's desirable coffees and -- most importantly -- warm interpersonal service, the van which was once just a van has become a staple meeting place for businesses and offices around the area. Firstly, the food. With it's arguably large menu, Streat Toast -- Streat herein -- has you covered for any time of the day. Missed breakfast? Maybe dig into some fruit toast or a breakfast sandwich. Craving for some lunch? Indulge in some salad of the day, or if requiring something more substantial perhaps a steak sandwich. Or maybe you're just looking to infuse some more caffeine into the blood stream before trudging through a seemingly pointless meeting, their coffees will get you through. In each case Streat has equipped itself to serve, and to serve well. No matter the circumstance I am doubtful that you won't find something to indulge in -- that was a purposeful double negative to keep your brain awake. And secondly, and most importantly, the service. In essence, it is fair to conclude that it is easy to be a food vendor but it is difficult to be a part of the food culture. Streat has achieved the latter. With its fantastic set of people, such as Alex, they will ensure that every single time you visited you felt welcomed to the van that they are incredibly proud of. Without a doubt, I am incredibly delighted that Streat exists. Knowing that there is a meeting place for me and my coworkers to spend some time networking and just invest in one another makes me incredibly happy. Without any help from anyone but themselves, Streat has woven itself into the cultural fabric of Deakin. With its fantastic food, desirable coffees and its incredible service, Streat is no longer just a food van in Deakin but rather it is Deakin's meeting place for all.
