There's much stigma surrounding dinner hall, mass produced food such as this, almost reminiscent of school dinners, and I know I was nervous, being a picky eater, about eating what I was given. However, this couldn't be further from the truth at Fusion. The food is often themed around certain nights, but there's almost always at least a couple of relatively neutral choices which almost everyone will like (pasta bakes, lasagne, etc.) My personal favourites were on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes, when delicious roast meat baps and chicken nuggets respectively were served. The food is of a surprisingly good quality, again defying the stereotype for this kind of establishment, and is available for everyone, regardless if they have the prepaid meal plan or are wanting to pay with cash, meaning that friends from self-catered halls can come any time. The one downside to Fusion is a seemingly uniform decline in quality towards the end of each term. I can only speculate as to the reason to this; presumably, a certain amount of stock has to be used before holidays, therefore unpopular meals can only be held off for so long before they must become cooked repetitively, which is a shame.
