Scary place for young girls to work. I was waiting for my order and I heard other employees talking about 2 male managers texting the young girls there. They want to pick them up and take them different places. It isn't just because it is bad weather otherwise they would have been texting the young boys that work there. Someone please look into this. read more

This McDs is pretty good. This location here was a bit busy as its off the highway. The service is fast and the server was quick to take orders and make them, which was nice. The seating is plenty and the location is clean. There is parking on the location and they have free Wifi. They are keeping the food consistent with other MC D's. read more

Probably the worst MacDonald's I've been to in regards to repeated attempts to get my order straight. The day manager at the front order desk was the culprit. Forced to deal with her three times before order was corrected. I know it's only fast food, but this was bewildering. Also the burgers were very dry. I wonder why? read more

Disgusting disgusting disgusting customer service by the manager (an aging white/platinum blonde) lady. My fiance and I are driving on our way back from Toronto to our city, and wanted a late night snack. We stopped by the mcdonalds at Port Hope, ordered our food and sat down at the table, where there were two chairs pulled out beside our table, but no note indicating the area was blocked off. I assumed that the previous customers arranged the chairs that way and left it like that. I see that all the time at McDonald's. No big deal. I sat there and the younger worker brought our food to us at the table. Once we started eating, and almost finished, the older lady with the white hair started speaking to us in a rude manner, and told us to not sit there, basically insinuating that were stupid for sitting there, even though the "blocked off area" was extremely poor in attempt, and ambiguous. I told my fiance to pack the last bites and leave. We rushed out of the mcdonalds bewildered by her audacity to speak in such a rude tone, to customers who were given their food right there to consume by another employee. We were almost finished eating, What difference would it have made to tell us to not sit there in such a rude tone, when were were basically finished our meals? The rude and aggressive manager made us feel nauseous to our stomachs with her confrontation. I advise you all to skip over this mcdonalds location, and head to a different one. The manager makes the customers feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. read more

Greeted by a mature woman who screamed at us that the kiosks are open and she is by herself. As we were paying cash, we waited to order in line. Others used the kiosk, and the worker left us standing in line and got those orders ready of the people that came in behind us. We left hungry and angry. This woman was not at all the polite and friendly McDonald's worker. We visited on December 7th at 1pm. Will never return. read more

I like this McDonald's. It is consistently good as far as Mickey D's go - hot, fresh, and greasy! We always stop here on the way back to my hometown on this lonely stretch of highway 401, its nice to have a place that gets it right every time. PS : try the real fruit smoothie - they are actually delish!! read more

Stopped here off the 401 in a desperate search for a meal as our family was starving. Ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. Daughter ordered a quarter pounder. Husband ordered an angus burger. Let me just say this: The sandwiches (except for the quarter pounder) were blase. The fries were served cold. The diet coke was watery. I will NEVER eat at McDonalds in this location again. I actually had horrible digestive issues the next day which I attribute to the lousy food. read more

Cleanest McDonald's ever !! All the tables are clean, no sign of neglect...simply amazing ! Our Sausage McMuffins were the best we ever had. Very fluffy eggs....mmmmm. Worth the drive to Port Hope !! read more

During the beginning of my long journey to Montreal, I stopped at this location of McDonald's. We ordered burritos, hash browns and double-double coffee. The food is below the expectations of McDonald's restaurant, unhealthy and full of calories (in a disgusting way). The service was average and helped us when we asked. Overall, this location of McDonald's is below what is expected from a fast food restaurant or fast food joint. I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

Absolutely disgusting service. Made the mistake of going there tonight for a takeout order. 3 of the 4 kiosks are still broken have been for some time. The only 1 that did was tied up over an hour by an off the clock employee lazily going through each and every item on the entire menu multiple times but not ordering when he could plainly see the long line of people waiting to order. So I went to the counter and the teenager behind the counter was nothing more than an ignorant rude idiot. She never gave me my reciept and deliberately ignored me the next 5 minutes as I tried to get it. Worse she as much as told the guy behind me to P**S off as the front counter was closed due to being understand when it was clear she'd just finished taking my order which she got wrong and she knew for a fact the kiosks were not working. She went out of her way to get rid of a PAYING CUSTOMER! when I did get my order the drink was wrong which I told them and they asked her if she'd served me and she said no, so she lied again. Then they put my order on a tray when I'd made it clear 3 times that it was takeout. This McDonalds needs to be either closed and converted to a company store with all new staff or just closed permanently as this kind of thing has been going on for years. Funny thing is when I was a teenager working in a mcdonalds they had a training video called "credibility gap" describing how to avoid problems just like this but this mcdonalds is far far worse! read more

As far as a Mikey D's go this place has the sweetest older ladies that so politely say dear and hun to everyone. I love the big bar tables and bright big windows. Good place and easy back on the highway. read more

I live just around the corner from this McDonalds. This location is the only McDonalds in Port Hope which is unfortunate. The service is terrible and the food is the worst McDonalds food I've ever had, which is pretty gross considering Mcds food is pretty gross even at its finest. I keep hoping to get a fresh, well made breakfast sandwich from this location. I have been here dozens of times and literally I have never had a good meal. The sandwiches have been sitting for hours, the hashbrowns are consitently undercooked and the coffee is often watery or dirty-tasting. The morning staff are surly. Also, with the min wage increase a breakfast is now nearly $8. not nearly worth it considering the list of issues above. This location is always super busy. Some of this is due to the traffic off the 401, but most of it is due to lousy customer flow. No separate lines for coffee-only orders. No streamlining of any kind. always understaffed to save money. Wait times are brutal. I've been stuck in drive through for 15+ mins with no one sent to the wait stalls for longer orders to keep the lines moving. If you have the option please go elsewhere for food. I have been going to this location on and off for eight years and it has always been terrible. Lack of managerial skill and integrity. The worst McDonalds I've ever been to. And, unfortunately, the one everyone in Port Hope is stuck with. read more

Coffee way too hot to drink. No cinnamon pastry and then no blueberry. Had to wait for coffee too.

As far as Mcdonald's locations go, I always try to stop here on my road trips. This location has picnic tables outside making trips with the dog a lot easier when I can eat at a table with my dog stretching out and lying on the grass. Gas and hwy 401 on ramps close enough. Location is reasonably busy. read more
