A friterie (Fr), frituuror (Nl), or frying place that serves ice cream. So if it's fried, this place has it. The beignets are to die for. Oh my. Great outer texture. Soft interior with the right amount of powdered sugar on top. Forget about the ones in New Orleans. You have to come here. The waffles? Oh so delightful. Crispy on the outside and delicate fluff on the inside. Even better than the ones in the Grand Place in Brussels. Although my family likes another place for ice cream better, this is my favorite in Koksijde. The right amount of cream and well flavored with more bits inside. So it's not a dining locale. Don't come here because you think you'll get fine food. It's fried, Belgian style. Maybe a quick bite at lunch. But for gouter or after dinner tasting, it's worth the trip.

There are kiosks to order - there are actually some on a floor up if you want to avoid the line on the first floor. Some menu items specific to Belgium. There's a nice peppery Paul burger with cheese, bacon and a nice peppery sauce!!! Definitely a unique locale for a McDonald's!!!! Reasonable pricing for a very touristy area.

Visiting the town on an August Sunday, most places were booked for lunch around 13.30 and my daughter was fading fast. #hangry Along a main street, this McDonalds is four levels inside a 16th century building. Sighs throughout tell the building's history. The first floor is filled with machines to order your food, but to avoid the crowd, the second floor has kiosks too. The top floors have seating with free WiFi and outlets. Restrooms are on the top, but keep your receipt so it's free.
