There's not a lot to say about these restaurants. The food is overpriced for what it is and most…read morepeople know what it is. They serve mostly the same food everywhere with the odd nod to local taste, but the truth is we visited them more in France than we would have liked. It's our preference to support local independents over the multi nationals, recognising in the complex world of trade that the multi nationals have a place too and to deny this is foolish. So my dear reader I hear you ask why? Well three key reasons: free wifi, toilets with paper tissue, soap and hot water to wash hands and just alright coffee. Our experience was that outside this chain all three were harder to find particularly free (and for that matter pay) wifi. To give balance there wasn't a BurgerKing in sight anywhere and we didn't visit the French burger equivalent Quick as again they were not easily found. We were staying in camping la Vallee with dreadful owners running a prison type regime so we spent more time off site. Some towns like Houlgate and Cabourg had free wifi in town centres which just didn't work. Also the local cafés priced tea and coffee at and often above €4. For this price for coffee you get about 180 ml of fluid made with poor tasting water and cheap robusta coffee. Most cafés charged €4.50 for a 330 ml of diet coke. In short a rip off as far as I'm concerned. The coffee in Mc Donald's was somewhat better maybe their water is filtered and half the price in nearby cafés, good wifi and friendly staff. I noted that a Big Mac meal; the burger, chips or salad and a 400ml drink in the Dives Sur Mer branch was €5 or 50 cent more than the cost of a can of coke in a cafe. One morning there we got 2 lattes, 2 Mimi croissants 2 mini chocolate croissants and 2 mini Danish for 4 euro. So as the cafe owners can't be a*+ed then why should I? Case closed.

This McDonalds is probably the slowest that I have ever experienced in all the places I have been…read moreto. Wow! It's been 10 minutes so far. If we had gone through the drive through, they certainly would not have been able to deal with our order. 1 cheeseburger, one egg McMuffin and a bagel and two fries, three drinks... unbelievable

This has to be the most disgusting McDonalds that I have ever been in! First of all, we went here…read morefor breakfast. We had egg mcmuffins and a coffee, which was ok; typical McD's. I then thoughht I'd go in the bathroom to get some tissues/toilet paper. First thing in the morning and the gigantic role of t.p. was empty. No worries; just took a couple napkins with me. Went there this evening (it's next to our hotel) for a coffee and upon walking in, you can see how disgustingly dirty the place was. This time went to go to the toilet and it was freakin' disgusting! Somebody had dumped on the seat; well, not a seat since they don't have one but on the porcelain. Fair enough, there was the yellow sign there so the staff was aware. I just went back to my coffee and waited 20 minutes, then checked again. This time the sign was gone but then I noticed that the stuff wasn't clean up but just some toilet paper (where did that come from?!?!?!) was thrown over it. Animals don't live like this!!! My wife checked for me and we went into the women's bathroom. There were two stalls there. One was a handicap one but didn't use that because again, no t.p. Don't the French wipe their asses?!?! The other had some but there was also a great pile of it in the corner. Really disgusting people around here and McDonalds staff who have a crap job but refuse to do it. My wife, who ordered the coffees, also said that a couple of the girls working behind the counters had filthy shirts that did not get filthy just serving fast food. I have a friend in Belgium who has some McDonalds franchises and I'm sure that if he found out that one of his restaurants looked like this, heads would roll!! I planned to go here for breakfast tomorrow morning too but the missus said that no way in #%@+ will she go there again. Guess it's croissants and cafe au lait for breakfast then!
