I waited 45 mins to place a drink order. Then the waitress felt it was necessary to explain they only accept cash prior to taking the drink order. Adding, "are you sure?" I found this pretty offensive.
Then after 1 hour 10 mins, my wife asked if she could place our food order. The waitresses said, we are very busy. The whole place had about 15 people in it and it did not appear busy. Though it seemed they were struggling getting drinks to any table. About 20 mins after the waitress took our order, a second waitress asked if she could take our order. Then another 10 mins later, she came by again to clarify our order (wrong table).
Once the food came, it was very large portions. None of us finished our food. My medium burger was definitely undercooked but it didn't bother me much. They use sweet pickles instead of dill (not my favorite) but .
All in all the food was bland (typical of Germany, I think). It was served at appropriate temperature and presented well. So it was ok. The decor is interesting because it is very American.
Sadly the service was not good, and the prices seemed a little high, not prohibitively high, but higher than usual (in Germany). They would be about normal in the US.
I would give it another shot, but maybe not for a late lunch on a Sunday. It could be a staffing issue, so roll the dice, if you are in the area, at a different time.
