Fast, good food (for fast food). Friendly workers. I need more characters...I mean it's a good MCDONALDS

McDonald's is located in a safe location in front of the Sun Valley Commons shopping center, and has an easy to access drive-thru/parking. This facility has average speed to order as they always have a line but the employees are pretty nice. That said I'll be brief as if you've been to McDonalds, outside of service, the food should be about the same. As far as the food is concerned, I've had a lot of visits. One time I ordered the McRib special with a diet coke and fries. My McRib extremely dry with barely any bbq sauce, and almost all the onions missed the sandwich. The fries tasted as if they had been sitting for a while as they were soggy and limp. However, another visit my sandwich was warm, had a lot of sauce and all the toppings made it to the dance! Also, the fries were warm this time too which was a pleasant surprise. For those "ice cream" zealots, I didn't inquire if they ice cream machine was working as the story goes..... My kids shared their food and I found the Big Mac dry as well since they didn't put much sauce on it. To many times I've seen the middle bun "naked." Their chicken sandwiches I'd probably rate the lowest of the fast-food restaurants since they're dry, small and only have pickles. The nuggets are good when hot but I'd say 4 out of 10 times they're lukewarm at best. Be sure to ask for your sauce and check the bag as the servers miss it often as well. Overall, the people here are nice but the food is much like all McDonalds now adays if you don't catch them at the exact right time. It's frustrating because outside of the McRibb the fries are the best part of the meal and when they're cold the whole experience is wasted. At least the staff are nice. read more

I can normally appreciate this location outside of a few negative experiences, ranging from two young people playing around when they should be attending to food orders, a worker who condescendingly slings orders without ever looking to see if I'll reach them in time, to the most recent visit which left me speechless and without cheese. How does a cheeseburger have no cheese? Get it together, McWorkers! I went through the drive thru after midnight and was the only customer. How could my order possibly be wrong? Ice Cream Machine Down at 3pm. Told me a happy meal was $8.37. No one was at the first window to pay so I drove to next window with my card, Girl at that window said I was suppose to pay at first window, I said no one was at that window she said "yes there was" I was like I just left that window and no one was there, she starts screaming for the employee...I just left without paying. read more

They always change their breakfast time. I was told it was 3:30. Then I was told it was 3. Your night shift SUCKS! They have awful customer service and are very rude. Specifically the African American manager that's on shift during this time. Very disappointed with McDonald's. read more

Nasty! As I was sitting about to leave a customer walked-in and approached the counter Asked to speak to a Manager, heard Her said that when She took a bite out of Her Chicken sandwich She bite into someone's braid of Hair! Felt sick to my stomach as I also ordered their Pico Guacamole Grilled Chicken. Worst off was the behavior of their Crew Members towards each other, witnessed one staff member walk by another and pulled Her hair, phone ringing off the hook no one has the time to answer due to their Social Job! I specifically asked for barbecue sauce, they charged me for the condiment yet it was not included in the order.

I live and work in Indian Trail and have had two experiences with this location. Both experiences were terrible. Unfortunately when I ordered through DoorDash they don't deliver from the one closer to me which is the one on Highway 74 in front of the Walmart that's connected to the gas station ( which by the way is phenomenal! I love this location and prefer it) , so my first experience was through door dash. When the food was delivered I had to basically rewarm everything up in my air fryer and it still was absolutely disgusting. Nothing was fresh at all. Unacceptable ! Not even the sweet tea was good. It tasted like watered down tea and it wasn't because of the ice because the ice was not melted at all yet. After that I vowed to never eat at this location again however decided to give them another chance and went while on lunch break because when I'm at work this is the closest location. The fries tasted like they have been sitting all day and so did the burger. Clearly this location has an issue with selling old food. They don't have fresh food at all. It's one of those locations where you have to request everything to be fresh every time you go clearly which you shouldn't have to do. I really didn't feel like writing this review but this place is absolutely ridiculous and I wanted to save others from wasting our hard earned money at these types of places. What is the manager doing to fix this is my question because by the looks of the other reviews I am not the only one that has had an unacceptable experience here. The only thing I will say is that the young man working the first window on 3/5 around 4:20 pm was the ONLY pleasant thing about this location. He was friendly but still didn't make up for the waste of money and old food. I'm sure my stomach will be hurting in about 20 minutes from the food. What's up with all the hate for this location? It's a McDonald's! I often take my kids there for a weekend breakfast treat. The staff have nearly always been polite and cordial and the food is, well, McDonald's. Not only list when I want a fancy crepe but for an egg McMuffin, they'll do. There is nothing, particularly outstanding about it, just well executed, fast food, as you would expect from McDonald's. Obviously, it's not every day food, but it is an occasional dietary splurge/treat. This McDonald's has rude employees and a rude night shift manager , I went in at 8pm to get my son a happy meal after a long day at the park swiped my card and it took the money out of my account and they said they had not got my order in the system after asking for a refund was told she put it back on there ? Honestly if I could give this place zero stars I would. The concept of "fast food" is lost on this location. They must have found the worst management and employees to drop in one place. If you EVER try to go past the daylight hours you better have a full tank of gas and Netflix on your phone. You will be there long enough to watch a full length movie. It's sad! read more

You would stand a better chance of getting service and movement out of zombies (the WD kind) than these folks. It's like they can't get out of their own way. In this place if you go in at night, they won't even take your order at the mic, they use 1 window for EVERYTHING so the lines are stacked. I went in one morning and the cashier was taking orders on a piece of paper and I had to help him do the math because their registers "weren't available." Just now I waited 10 MINUTES for my diet coke after placing the order at the kiosk. An employee with a Grey shirt, no name tag and a loud smoker voice kept yelling at me "I'll be right with you." If I was the owner I would be concerned about the way this store is being run at night. Not taking orders at the order screens, making customers order at the second window after waiting in line for long periods of time before even preparing the food, not accepting credit cards or giving receipts for cash transactions would be something that should concern me. Save your time and go to another McDonald's , I mean it. On the sign it says drive-thru open 24/7. Everywhere on the McDonald's says drive thru open 24/7. It was 11:02 and figured McDonald's was our best bet to get some late night food. The line was long but we don't mind waiting. We waited in the drive thru line for about 35mins once we got to the actual Ordering mic we waited another 10 mins just to be told they decided to close early.... uhm what? Why couldn't they just tell us they decided to close early instead of making us wait for so long. Please do not go to this McDonald's you'll only be wasting both your money and time. read more

It is really hard to screw up fast food but this location seems to do it all the time. Went thru drive thru last night and ordered the quarter pounder hot and juicy combo. Employees at drive thru were totally disfuntional. The girl who took the money was rude and never thanked me. They screwed my order up and I had to show them the receipt to get my food. The burger was cild and was not hot n juicy. The fries were cold and unsalted. How hard is it to get what you paid for. They need mature adults working the dinner hours and not kids who have no clue. This was the most spectacularly bad McDonald's I think I have ever been to. I wish I could give a 0. First, in the drive through line they were taking orders from the #2 lane, but not the # 1 lane and when they finally did, it was at a 1-6 car ratio. When I did get to order, they could not understand iced coffee little /light sugar and milk. She repeated the order no joke, 5 times. Only to get it wrong and make it so light it was almost white. I asked for sauce on the side, she confirmed in the drive through only to have it missing then they ask to charge me again. The night shift is awful. I tried to order a drink the other night. The woman refused to take my order at the screens. You had to order at the window. There was already a long line. I left after 15 minutes. Tonight, I went. The young man skipped me twice at the screens. The one taking my money said one word, Sprite, to me. No total at all was given. No thank you. Nothing. I asked the next young lady about their service at night. Why it was so bad? She asked what I meant and I told her. The guy running the drive'thru tried to argue with me. I have gone to this McDonald's multiple times and every time I have gone there has been some type of problem. Usually some of the problems are kids fighting outside, staff getting your order wrong, Long wait times for food. On this particular occasion I made a mobile order and no one knew about my order. The staff stated that I was trying to get free food and accused me of stealing. They stated they will not give me free food even after showing them that my mobile order app have gone through and said it was ready for pick up. On top of that they threatened to call the police if I don't leave and I asked for a refund and they refused the refund. The workers stated that all that goes through Raleigh and I would have to talk to my credit card company. My order finally did pop up and asked my name. They said they where having computer problems. When I got my food it was cold, fries container was semi empty and they even messed up my drink order. I love McDonald's but may need to make the drive to go to a different location. read more

McDonalds in Indian Trail had burritos for $1.00 a month ago, and they jacked it up to $1.39. Today, November 11th, I ordered a burrito and a small coffee. The girls said, "$2.97." I said, I was just here Friday and it was $2.55 with the tax. She said, "They jacked the coffee prices up now. It's gone from $1.00 any size to three different prices with the small being $1.39 and the large is over $2.00." So, the only way I can compensate for this $0.80 increase or 40% price hike in one month is to cut my trips from five a week to one. I'll only go in there now on Fridays. So- who wins? McDonald's is generally a horrible restaurant, but this one is by far the worst of the worst and that's saying something. Every single time I go there I order the same thing and every single time the geniuses that they have hired get it WRONG. How is it possible to look at a screen and not put the food on the screen in the bag? I order a big breakfast (no pancakes) a sausage mcmuffin and an extra hashbrown. I go here almost everyday and they are never usually nice but i am just there to get my food then leave. But the service I received the other day was absolutely terrible. They had a menu calendar and the day we went they had a $0.79 cheeseburger option so we got two. Then they were trying to charge me full price and I said it said on the menu and even the cashier was confused and said it was in fact cheaper today but still charged me full price. I had not paid yet and said I would like the cheeseburgers removed because I did no longer want them if they were not $0.79. She said I could not take it off even though I did not pay yet. I said I was not going to pay for it. She got her manager at the time and the manager was so unbelievably rude. I apologized for the inconvenience and she screamed throughout the entire restaurant saying not to give the cheeseburgers to me. Absolutely the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. I constantly have to wait 20 minutes or more in the drive thru...really I can't tell you when I haven't waited forever. If you go through during the night good luck getting any service. List of excuses I have gotten are "sorry our system is down" "sorry we aren't serving right now" (24 hour McDonald's with cars in the line) "sorry we are out of chicken". If by the grace of God you do get your order taken prepare yourself. Service continues to be shockingly horrible. I have never been to any fast food place in my life that sucks as bad as this McDonald's. This McDonald's could give the area it sits in a bad name just by being there. I can't even put into words how bad it sucks. Anyways...don't waste your time or money. There's plenty of other options around them that blows this dump out of the water. Saturday night, 5 cars at the drive-through and the "manager" bypasses all the efficient features of the 2 lane 2 window pre order, drive through to make them go to one window, order, pay and pickup. It took me 12 min to get to the window. When I asked why the drive thru wasn't being operated properly I was told it was. When I asked for the "manager", who I had already seen on her phone while waiting, she came and argued with me, refused to finish my order, refused to give her name, and taunted me when I said I'd report her. By the time I left, there were 12 or more cars in the two lines and "manager" and another drive thru worker were standing around talking.
