Sausage McMuffin with egg
Dana H.

I had several shopping errands to do at Vineyard Plaza shopping center in Healdsburg. It was 1 pm when I finished and I hadn't had breakfast or lunch yet. So I went to the McDonald's drive thru to order a Sausage McMuffin with egg. Egg McMuffins always use a freshly cracked egg. Their other egg breakfast items use a pre-made flat egg "omelette" that is reheated. They had to make it from scratch as I was told to park in the lot while they cooked it. Took it home and it was still hot. It was satisfying and one of the few things I will order from McDonald's.

$50 for cold fries and cold burgers waste of money and time next time I'll just drive to the Windsor McDonald's.

Our server Brian was thoroughly knowledgeable about the food and preparation of every dish, while being personable and friendly throughout the entire meal. I was wildly impressed with the efficiency of the kitchen getting food out as well. We had the guava cucumber mocktails which were refreshing and crisp, as well and ginger beer and it was great! The brisket tacos were cooked to perfection and the puree at the bottom of the taco is such a great suprise! My husband got the bahn mo special and I of course stole a bite or two. It was so fresh and falvorful. The fries were tossed in soy sauce syrup and green onions and were mind blowingly good. The entire staff was warm and pleasant. The young staff even made eye contact and engaged with us! haha We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the options they have to offer.

Our group shared everything and I liked them most in the following order: - Macha fries (not like the tea! More like nacho fries) - Short rib tacos - Burger - Crab salad - Chicken tendies They have an enticing list of cocktails. I don't normally drink cocktails but I had the guava paloma which was excellent. We sat in the patio garden with the heat lamps fired up, and it was wonderful. Great service.

Service was courteous and friendly. The steak was a bit small for the price, but heck, no big deal. The bummer was the 19% tip that's added; it felt weird, but we paid it. Management needs to reconsider; you are working against yourself. Upscale restaurants should not penny-pinch their customers; most people who dine in these establishments will pay the upcharge. If it's relevant, this charge isn't. We will be back.

Highly recommend sharing the Goat Cheese Croquettes - bite sized balls of cheese goodness, drizzled with honey and lavender. Perfection! We always get at least one seasonal Garden Salad - light and fresh! And I tried a few different main courses over our visits - all inspired and delicious: +Bucatini Pasta with broccolini, sun-dried tomatoes, chanterelles, and pine nuts +Burger (it used to be a thick and rich burger with a bordelaise sauce, but over the summer it was more of a double smash burger with cheese...very Americana, and a little "lighter" than the previous option) +Roasted Mt Lassen Trout - light and clean +Tikka Masala - I ordered this comforting dish with tofu but friends ordered it with chicken. It's flavorful, and a beautiful, bountiful presentation. Barndiva is known for their cocktails. We like our go-to classic and mezcal margaritas, but have worked our way through some of their signature cocktails, always adorned with dried fruit and/or edible flowers! If you haven't visited recently, I do recommend giving them another try. If you can't get a reservation online, call - that's worked for us! Cheers.

On the rainy day that my wife and I visited Pepper's, it looked like there was only one other person seated at the bar dining at the restaurant. When we walked in, we were quickly greeted and offered a booth close to the front of the restaurant. Not long after being seated, our waitress stopped by to take our drink order, and our coffees took no more than a minute to be brought over. Throughout our meal, our waitress checked on us multiple times to make sure our coffee was never empty. I ordered the oatmeal off the sides menu, and my wife got the chicken fried steak. If you're a fan of chicken fried steak, you will absolutely love the one here. The steak is fried as crispy as a chicken tender, the sausage gravy smothered on top is rich and hearty, and the toasted buttered biscuit served on the side is perfect for sopping up any gravy left on your plate. The over easy eggs we ordered could not have been cooked better. Additionally, the included hash browns were cooked perfectly: the entire surface of the hash browns was cooked to a crispy gold brown with not a single burnt, or uneven bit. I can't recommend Pepper's enough if you happen to be in this part of Healdsburg.

The ambiance…read moreis truly amazing, with beautiful, intentional décor that makes the space feel special and elevated from the moment you walk in. The food really shines. The lasagna is hands-down my favorite item on the menu, followed closely by the menudo, and the pecan pie is absolutely phenomenal. I used to love the chicken and waffles, though it seems the recipe has changed--while it's still good, it's not quite as magical as it once was. A couple of years ago, I had a seasonal tomato salad that I still dream about to this day. The menu rotates, so I've never seen it return, but it clearly left an impression. If you're stopping in before 3 p.m. to visit the café, the golden milk is excellent, and nearly every puff pastry in the glass case is worth trying. As much as I adore this place, I do wish the prices were more affordable--especially since the food isn't explicitly organic, which makes the cost feel a bit harder to justify. I also wish the upstairs area weren't limited to VIP pricing, as it would be wonderful for all guests to enjoy the full space. Lastly, every time I've sat at the bar to eat, my service has been less deliberate and much slower. I recommend sitting at a proper table to get the full dining experience as the service has typically been really great when I was seated at a table. Overall, this is an impressive and memorable vegan restaurant that I'd happily recommend, especially as a follow-up stop after visiting the local farmers market held on weekends in the parking lot across the way.

Fun vegan concept to visit if you are in Healdsburg…read more Don't missed the smoked carrot spread - it's super creamy, I don't know how they do it. (If you're not hungry, you can get it from the refrigerated section to-go.) The bibimbap bowl was surprisingly filling and I liked most of the elements (mushrooms were a bit too sweet for me but nice and juicy, the charred bok choy was excellent). It's one of those meals where you feel good about yourself after eating it. The rye brownie my friend was obsessed with, she loved how light it was while still delivering the satisfaction of a brownie. I thought it was not bad, especially considering it's gluten free, but not necessarily the best brownie I've had. It's not too sweet or rich/dense which is my usual gripe with brownies
