It's been a few days since I visited this particular McDonald's, and it still feels like a bit of a…read morenightmare. So many things were wrong with this place! McDonald's usually keep their restaurants at a good level, but not this one!
As I said, there were so many things wrong here, but we'll get to that. The thing is, most of these problems probably stem from the fact that this is a very old location. Not only does it desperately need an upgrade, but it's just too darn small to handle the amount of people that come through. I would guess it's atleast 20 years old, in the oldest part of the small. It's probably too small if you would only consider people that visit the gigantic mall, but then you have to add on the people that come that have just visited the big zoo that's basically across the street. They could easily open one more and make enough money.
The biggest problem with our visit was that it took a lifetime to order food. I feel waiting 5 minutes in a McDonald's is enough, but I actually had to wait in line for at least HALF AN HOUR! The queuing took place in a pretty cramped place, making it an even worse experience. And to add insult to injury, an alarm somewhere in the kitchen was beeping the entire time I was there. I feel so sorry for the people working there. If you think that was bad, I talked to someone who waited in line almost an hour. It looks like the kitchen was tiny, and if you ordered anything other than the regular burgers (BigMacs, basically), there was a wait. Someone ahead of me waited something like 20 minutes for two burgers, after they ordered! Most of the staff were working at top speed, but there were a few that were extremely slow, and you'd think it was their first day, but I doubt it was.
You'd think the eternal wait was enough, but the restaurant itself wasn't that great either. It could definitely use an upgrade. It probably needed one 10 years ago. All surfaces were clean, but the floors obviously needed to be cleaned more often, and the walls needed some paint. The restaurant goes over two floors, and when I was in the staircase there was a very faint smell of mildew. It also looked like there were problems with several different machines in the kitchen.
Last but not least, the play area has seen better days, plus it's tiny. I didn't feel comfortable letting my 2-year old play there.
At the very least, the food was the normal food that you would expect, and if we'd gone through the McDrive we probably would have been none the wiser.
If you're looking for an OK place to eat with your family after a long day, go somewhere else!
