I used my app to order a happy meal for my grandson. Their app gave me the 4-did it code as I got near. I then sat in line for 14-minutes. During that time, six cars got thru the ordering process. Before I begin my review on a this world record of horrible restaurant, I want to say that this is a review of the past 10 years of experience here, and it hasn't really changed. First, the food. It is not food. Instead it looks, smells, and tastes like the calorie supplement it is. No nutritional value except trans fat. But breakfast hits different if I have that craving that happens three times a year... and they get my doordash right. Now the service, if I would be typing this review it would be another ten years. On average I would see numerous people behind the counter, so work. I mean it. Sometimes I would see 12 people behind the counter and they say, "You will have a long wait due to staffing issues." What staffing issue!?!! Also, can you get my order right? It takes me 30 minutes each time I go there they decide to play the guessing game on my order. Please just read the order receipt next time and all times. And one final thing, HOW DO YOU NOT RUN OUT OF ICE!?!?!?!?! Please put more beverage than ice in my drinks please, or share your infinite ice secret. The building is trashy, wrappers, sticky floors, stains, and food is what makes the building up. 22 minutes!!! it took 22 minutes to get from the side of the building, where the orders are placed, to the side of the building, where you pick up your order. I use their app, which was advertised as being an expedited way of getting your meals. But when I got the food, it was barely room temperature. I went back in the building to see if manager was available and I was told the manager was not available but I should call later. How on earth is this McDonald's surviving? Is the worst service of any McDonald's I've been to, and, although I enjoy McDonald's, frequent them, and it probably stopped at 10 or 12 different McDonald's locations in southeaster Wisconsin, I'm embarrassed to say that my hometown McDonald's, in Elkhorn, is the worst I've ever been to. Even more disappointing is that these negative reviews have been pouring in for months, and years, and corporate McDonald's seems to have no interest in fixing it. They refused to accept a $100 bill because my order cost $56 and only small bills i had added up to $54..the manager refused to accept the money and called the cops..when cops show up they said the McDonald's manager said I can go break change at the gasstation and come back for my food..I told the cops that after all this I don't want to come back for cold food and it was very petty..the cops spoke to the manager came back and said he was giving me a ticket for disorderly conduct for 313 smh just wow...we went to Culver's they accept our American 100 bill you lost a 10 person family who were loyal customers read more

terrible service, employees are always rude, there's always a terrible wait and unfortunately every single time (I seriously mean every time) I go there there's always an issue. the first time, they said they took my code for rewards and then when I got to the window the price didn't add up, so I asked , and the kid told me that he put the code in. Again checked the receipt, again didn't get the code, so I let the next drive thru window workers know. told me they first off couldnt add it to my meal which was already paid and said for, which I figured, but then told me that he lied and didn't put the code in. ?? why would you tell someone to their face that another employee lied about something that small? i didn't even really care, but it was frustrating and then to be told that made it worse. second time they shorted my change, i pointed it out and they told me I had to wait until a manager was on staff... isn't there always a manager on staff? it was again only a few bucks so I didn't really care but again super frustrating especially with the first time. 3rd time, one of the workers got pissy at the speaker because when we didn't hear her say one minute, we started to order and she said "there's plenty of people waiting just like you. wait your turn." then we finally started ordering when she came back, and we switched one of the items on our order before we went to the first window, and she said "ooh, someones indecisive" with a chuckle and it just was so weird. i felt uncomfortable to be honest and didn't understand why it was a huge deal to add tomato to a mchicken and how that makes me indecisive. Ugh it sucks that this place sucks, as it's just McDonald's and sometimes Is nice to stop when youre tired of cooking but it's not even worth it to go to this one. This McDonald's is the worst of all time. it's slower then my grandma when she stands up. One time I got the number one, the big more like big wax. Then I order chicken nuggets for my son nick and his chicken nuggets were blue inside. Few weeks later I try it out again. I get the B fest sandwich and all I get is some wet bread and a cold egg. What made it even worse was the cashier told me to make up my mind faster. And the guy putting out the food on the counter had booger's hanging out of his nose. Last night I ordered two breakfast burritos and there was a long curly black hair cooked into one. My fiancé called and let them know and asked for a replacement. They got upset and told us to go somewhere else and not come back anymore because they apparently can't make food up to our standard. This McDonald's location has so much room for improvement. I've tried the mobile ordering, and it takes longer for them to bring my food out then if I had just gone through drive-through and waited. Food's typical McDonald's offerings, accuracy of drive-thru orders can be hit or miss, but in general, quality gets no complaints. This morning, however, was an eye opener. Taking my breakfast for "Here," I had a front row seat to the drive thru and counter staff loudly mocking, joking, griping, etc. concerning drive thru customers. Icing on the cake? "Bada, ba ba baaa, I'm hatin' it!" sung by one of the workers. Look, I've put in my time in fast food myself, and serving people can be a thankless job at times, but save the comments for hushed rendezvous by the grills, not loudly on the front lines. I stopped at this McDonalds a few days ago. I noticed a sign on the door that they "cannot" take bills over $50.00 (but of course they "can", they just "don't want to"). Since I was only going to order a standard sandwich, fries and drink and pay with some one dollar bills, this wasn't going to affect me, but I did want to pose a question to the staff. Generally, the idea behind such a rule is that the store doesn't want you to order something for $3 and then expect $97 in change. So I asked the following: "I'm in town with some friends for a trade show. If a bunch of us came here to eat and I was treating everyone (picking up the entire bill) and the total came to $95, are you saying you wouldn't accept a $100 bill as payment?" The gal working the register had no clue at all as to what I was referring. Reposing the question to the manager, I was told, no, they wouldn't accept it. I replied that I would instead to take everyone to eat at Culvers next door. In such a situation (using a $100 bill to pay for a $95 tab), the till would not be emptied of change, as I'd only get back $5, less than what is often given in change when paying for a single meal with a $20 bill. Also, the argument that there would suddenly be too much cash in the drawer also fails since, if I paid with two $50s or five $20s, the amount of money in the drawer would be the same. As for theft by a store employee, well, history says someone can steal two 50s as easily as a single $100. I received my food and went around the corner to eat and to write up some notes for the next day's work. I finally finished and went back to the beverage dispenser to refill my water. At this point, I heard the manager of the store (to whom I had been speaking earlier) mocking me and our previous conversation about the $100 bill rule to another employee. He probably thought I had already eaten and left by then. Since his back was turned to me, he didn't realize I was standing there. I just stood looking at him and listening to him go on and on until he finally turned and caught sight of me, after which his face reflected the knowledge he'd been caught in the act. Instead of apologizing, he simply scurried in back. The manager in question was on duty at 9:15 pm on 8-11-2018. Since he was not wearing a name tag, I can't identify him that way, but he was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, slender build, very dark, tightly-cut hair and appeared to be in his later 20's, age-wise. This manager needs to be reprimanded and go through some additional manager training in how not to alienate customers by mocking or gossiping about them with other employees, regardless of whether it is right in front of the customer or not. Or fire him. In reading a few of the other reviews of this particular McDonalds, it appears the mocking customers by staff is not a new thing. read more

Well, I have been here a few times in Elkhorn. (Since I live in Elkhorn.) The experience of going there is a hit or miss. One time, my family ordered a 6-piece chicken nugget, 4 McDoubles, and a coke. They forgot the Chicken Nuggets and 1 McDouble. Let's just say my mother and father weren't very happy. My dad called the McDonalds and the manger gave us 2 McDoubles and the Chicken Nuggets for free. But the fact that they still forgot a chunk of our order, is still there even though we got food for free. (After we called the Store.) Before I forget to mention this, the fries are also a hit or miss. Sometimes, In my opinion, the fries are good. But most of the time, there burnt, too much salt, too hot, too cold, and soggy. I find this weird for fries to be like that. Just recently about 3 weeks ago, (As I am writing this review. As well as this happened more than once) I ordered 2 Plain McDoubles and I got chesse on it. That part was kinda okay. I opened up the burger to see if they screwed up, and sure enough they did. Now, I'm not a big fan of Ketchup, but there was Ketchup on my McDouble. Both of them. I used alot of BBQ Sauce to get the Ketchup taste off it. I could still taste it. They also put alot of Ketchup on it. We still go to here, but If you want a good McDonalds experience, don't go to this one. There's one reason we still go here. The Coke and the McDoubles. Far from 'Lovin It'... The experience was far from pleasing. Neither of the two cashiers seemed to know the register or even how to enter orders correctly. The cashier who took my order (Kaleb) couldn't grasp the concept of a Premium McWrap Meal, and needed to be reminded that I ordered a MEDIUM VANILLA SHAKE. I worked here for about a month, and speaking as a former "employee", I can tell you that you should avoid eating here at all costs. Let's start with the service. I can't describe much of what went on up front (since I largely did grill), but I can say that it, in a word, is unorthodox and unorganized. For example, the front counter worker is usually the newest, most inexperienced one and is often left to take multiple orders at one time along with making most of the beverages. To add onto this, most of the workers up front often don't wash their hands for hours upon hours and sometimes not before their shift and after their break. This is especially bad for the drive thru presenter. This person passes out all the food and drinks (usually touching customers' hands) and then making your drink, scooping your fries, etc. Also, I don't recommend you get any iced cafe drinks. The ice scooper is touched by tens of people throughout the day and often just left in with the rest of the ice instead of going in the holder. It is also rarely washed, even after getting dropped on the floor. Coffee and fries are often expired, food that is about a half hour old is occasionally served, etc. I don't even know what else to say because there is so much wrong with this place. As for the grill, it is even more of a mess. It's super crowded for one thing, and can get unbearably hot. As for your food, it could have been dropped, touched without gloves, or close to expiration. For management, Alison and Margaret, the two main managers... Wow, they made working here even worse. Both of them were often very rude to me and often gave me the most time consuming, difficult jobs instead of teaching me how to make sandwiches. They both also get stressed very easily and sometimes take it out on you. This place is falling apart at the seams and I highly suggest that you consider eating somewhere else. read more

This morning I stopped at the McDonald's drive through in Elkhorn WI. I really wanted iced coffee but I usually don't order it as it is more expensive than the $1 any size hot coffee. Today however I noticed that the large menu board by the speaker- not a special sign- listed Medium Iced Coffee as $1! I was so excited that I ordered two - for me and my mom. :) When the order came up on the screen it said they were $1.99 each. When I questioned it I was told that I was "wrong", that I must be "reading the sign wrong", and that they would not honor the menu board and give me the coffee for $1 each. I asked for someone to come out and look at the sign or they could just cancel my order, to which I received an "oh my god" over the drive through speaker. The manager then came out, looked at the sign and then covered it with her hand and told me that the sign was wrong and it was going to be changed and the coffee would be the correct price. I said ok, and thank you and drove away. SHAME ON YOU MCDONALDS MANAGER LADY. I just wanted some iced coffee. SHAME ON ME, I suppose, for expecting good quality service from McDonalds. Travel all over US. Train stations, airports & regular restaurants. This McDonald's is and always has been the worst all the way around. With few other options, it's hard to stay away. SLOW. No matter when or how busy. Napkins always smell like mildew. Don't use them anymore. Don't dry trays before putting placement on. You can tell by all the ripples. Complained for years that's not sanitary. I don't use them anymore. Might or might not get order right. Don't know what's changed about buns but they seem to fall apart. Last time ordered a shake. Took forever for the clerk to take my order & had to repeat several items. It was a meal with a shake! I told her just the shake with no whip cream or anything else. That was repeated multiple times . Came with whip cream. I said I ordered without. The delivery girl gave a snarly look and literally threw it away, delivered a new one. She then snapped at me that I should have told the order taker that. Still with a nasty scowl. I told her I did at least 3 times.
