McDonald's is always tasty, it's just oftentimes really crowded in this one, but the staff is quite nice and competent

I'm about to sound like what many Europeans may think is typical of an American: I love McDonald's. I know it's high in fat, high in cholesterol and completely artery clogging. However, it's great comfort food, and it is something familiar in a country far away from home. I liked this location in Jahnplatz because it was open late and located right by the Jahnplatz bus stop. After a night out, a euro for a cheeseburger before hopping on my night bus was amazing. In the US, the #1 drunk food craving is Taco Bell, but McDonald's is not bad as a second choice. This location was always clean, the service efficient and the workers friendly whenever I visited. Although the menu in Germany is different from the US menu, the cheeseburgers and fries are pretty much the same. Plus, you have the choice of ketchup or mayo for the fries. The only downside is that you don't get the ketchup (or mayo) for free like you do stateside. I gave four stars, which is probably one star more than I normally would give to a McDonald's, for it's great location and late hours. read more
